I'd help you if I could. I've tried to make a backup of my CD1 for this very reason! What if mine gets lost or broken? So, I've tried to make an ISO in as many ways as I know how to make one. I finally gave up. You cannot ISO that first CD. It has a decent enough protection scheme on it that it corrupts all copies. So if someone DOES give you an ISO I don't think it will work anyway.

Would a mini work as the play disk? I have a feeling it wouldn't.
Google around for bf2 mini image. Thats all I'm saying about that.

Thanks for the help guys, I will try a mini image, and if that doesn't work, I'll find something else. It was pretty absurd to ask for a 500+mb file to be transferred over the net.

I realized this thread could be taken the wrong way by a mod or admin, and I could have been banned or something, so I thank you guys for not overreacting like the one guy.

It's funny, the first two posts are guys overreacting, then the rest are knowledgable people.

I had no problems making a backup ISO of mine.

If I have missed something please help me out. I have the CD version (3 cds). Discs 2 and 3 will copy, iso..whatever. Disc #1 (the one that has to be in to play) will error-out while writing the new image. It's been a while but when I tried I believe it failed to write the image within the first 10% of the process. I am a Sr. LAN Admin and I've been doing computer work for almost 20 years. There are about 10 or so other guys I work with that have BF2 in CD or DVD format. They have all tried to ISO cd#1 and all have failed. In the case of the DVD, I had the same problem. I could not make any sort of backup of the DVD. (that worked)

My personal goal was to make a backup (archive it) and to run from ISO image instead of always needing CD in system. I gave up. If you somehow made an ISO out of CD#1 please please tell me how. What app did you use to make it? What's the trick? Have you actually tried the copy to see if it works??

UNDERPANT: If I can make a working image of CD#1 then I will gladly send it.

I bought the DVD version. Then i downloaded the CD version and deleted the images i didn't need. Just mount it and i have had no problems.

Not everyone who does this is illegal.

Just send the copy back to EA and they will replace it. No need to go into warez downloads.

actually u have to use mini image, the regular cd images do not contain the info that u need to authenticate the discs.

Will EA not replace your disk for a fee? There's a note at the back of my SF manual (a UK edition, mind you) that says they'll replace scratched/broken game disks.

That's BS. I've never played with the disc in the drive.

And it's not an ISO that works, it's an mdf made by Alcohol 120%.
