On the china tank looking at it head on, aim in line with the outer most bottom point of the red star on the turret then come down to the turret ring and aim on that line just above the centre of the turret ring needs to be your hit point. 1 in 10 times its a 1 hit kill practically impossible to hit in game some times it causes hardly any damage, not worth the risk aim at tracks and make sure in 2.

Just start your own server, hop in as engineer, and start testing hitspots on a tank. It can't be that hard to do so. If you hit it and it doesn't get distroyed after 1 hit. Go to the tank and fix it, see how much damage it did, and take a note where you hit the tank.

If what 18zulu says is true, this looks like a bug in the supposed ricochet of projectiles that are supposed to be in the game. The angle the projectile would reflect at would roughly put it into the crack between the turret and the body of the tank. The game is simply going to register this as a hit, and any hit under the turret registers as a hit, and at that angle, it's likely to hit the thing one more time. The game would register that as 3 seperate hits all in a row.

Now, as for Hzu's "turret blow up", I bet he's just seeing the fire damage state with like, 1 HP on the tank left, and then it exploded. So no, ammo isn't exploded, all speculation on that one.

What I_M_Weasel0r said is true. The 1-shot tank spot has been discussed a lot here and there are 2 threads from last July where people posted videos of exacty where to hit the tank. The problem is that even if I know where to aim for I have never been able to actually pull it off while playing the game and only when I was testing the theory with others.

On a static tank its very very hard to hit, moving your down to pure luck.

yeah that about sums it up, i did it screwing around in an empty server ONCE, hit it directly in the top hatch (where the 50 cal is located) at a downward angle and it went up in a balze of freaking glory, but i have never been able to recreate it

as for the ammo exploding first that is bs, i agree with whoever said the shot got it down to like 1hp and the fire took care of the rest.

to all the non-believers, THERE IS A ONE-SHOT KILL SPOT on the t-90 as well as the m1a2. i have done it a few times in online play, but i honestly have no idea about the exact location because IT IS REALLY HARD TO REPLICATE while in combat.

TO ADD TO THE MYSTERY, i have one-shot killed one of my clanmates who was driving a T-90 while practicing for CAL WITH A SHOT FROM THE SIDE with my m1a2, but i don't know the exact spot and haven't been able to replicate it.

After one shot two guys (one guy named electricsun, the map was Oman, it was just started, with both of us racing against each other).

I shot him ON THE SPOT, and then a very cool effect happened: you can see the turret explode a fraction of second before the whole tank explode (which is realistic, because in real life ammo would be ignited first).

Because this technique alter the balance of tank combat so much, I am not telling the spot.

Out of curiosity, who was the other guy you one-shot killed? I was in that game with you (you were US for the first two matches then went MEC for the last match) and you didn't mention anything when it happened. I remember electricsun and I remember the beginning of that match. You took the tank from the Hotel and I grabbed the APC from the Construction Site. I joined up next to you and we went for the easternmost USMC beach base (forget the name ATM) and I was also picking at a tank as I was going along so it's possible that I may have weakened him a bit before you got to him. *shrugs*

i have been killed with one shot with full health, and i've killed with one shot aswell, but its completelly random, for me its more of a bug than anything else.

let me guess? between the turret and the base? thats where in real life ur spose to shoot cuz its kinda like dislocating ur head u know, it pops the turret outa there, but im not sure if its that in game.
