What if we had a class of just pilots?

You would have to spawn as a pilot to fly the aircraft, down side being you woulden't have alot of wepons and would have to be rescued(rescuer gets rescue points) and more choices of aircraft.

Awesomely awesome idea. It's always mentioning weapons like MP7s and machine pistols being used for crews and pilots but I never see this implemented in a game. Wouldn't add all that much balance, but it would be neat.

i think there should be some way of getting a "permit" type of thing, for certain vehicles.

like an offline course, and if you pass, then you get to drive/pilot that vehicle.

maybe a mod would do it but im sure EA/Dice wouldnt do it for this game,maybe in the future like BF3 or something but i dont think they would change it now

just re-name the sniper class and you have 20 pilots already standing on every airfield :)

Another 3 year old idea that people have been saying since the very beggining of BF2's development that wasn't listened to at all.

I've been saying this for a long time... Just make a mod especially for jets and call it Air Combat or something. Give all us plane campers what we really want.

sounds like a good idea. I think that maybe you should have a squad that you can apply to to become a pilot, something like the commander position, only with 6 people. Weather you make it or not depends on how good you are with flying. 6 people waiting for jets and helicopters. Those people would only get mp7s, a knife, and a parachute. It could work.
