I bought a low-mid ranged Logitech mic/earphones combo but was really disappointed with the quality. The earphones were actually find but no matter what mic settings I play with I'd have to shout even to stand a chance of being heard over VOIP.

The mic is working though but no one can really hear me and shouting isn't an option hehe.

Try clicking "mic boost".

I hate when people use speakers and desktop mics, maybe some have it set up ok, but most are garbage, you can't hear them, if you do there's an echo and you hear the game through their ub3r1337 20.1 surroundsound, or they are feedbacking so bad it blows your eardrums.

Plantronics makes a real good line headset, durable, comfortable, and only about $20.

Or that I rather spend 100$-150$ on headphones that actually are good than spend 50$ on a headset which I can't use with a portable player.

EDIT:If you wan't to spend 50$ on a decent headset and a hundred more on headphones that's your problem not mine. But don't expect me to think you're smart doing that. If you only use headphones for gaming than by all means get a headset, if you don't then don't get one.

i dont want do spend a lot of money for a really nice headset for VOIP but i have heard that you can youse a regular phone for teamspeak can anyone help me out, thanks

Do you mean use a regular phone headset for BF2? Or do you mean normal phone handset?

The formar can be done either by:
1. $30+ in plug adapters resulting in a block of plugs hanging off the headset
2. If you have a basic understanding of electronics, you can split and solder you telephone headset wires to a pair of standard stereo plugs.
3. Just buy a headset!

idk why some of u guys think headsets = cheap quality headphones.

to me, headsets just means a combo of a headphone and a mic.

my LTB 5.1 headsets definitely dont have cheap sound quality.

I nicked a £200 pair of Bose headphones from work and gaffer taped a £5 desk mic to the side.

Myself, I've got a highquality set of Koss surround sound headphones (yes, that's surround sound in headphones! 2 speakers per earpiece) and a crap arse RadioShack make headset with a good mic, but crap speakers. Hehe... it looks odd, but I use the headset like a collar and wear my good headphones on my ears. Awsome setup.

Unfortunatly, the surround sound headphones aren't being made anymore.

Keep your pants on mate. If I write nuanced and objectively I tend to get lost in the noise. I've found that to be seen/responded to on the totalBF forums you have to troll to some extent.

I would call it being rational more than being "a snott". But most people still use the standard headphones/earphones that came with their music player so I know I'm fighting an upphill battle.

I'm using the headset that came free with a preorder of Battlefield 2. Had no trouble with it at all, and it's as good as any of the ones you shell out lots of money for (okay, it doesn't have special effects, or a good noise reducer, but who needs those anyway?).

Go to a local RadioShack, and you should be able to get a nice logitech (or other) headest for no more than $5.

I use my PS2 headphones that I usually use for SOCOM, but the problem is there's only one headphone and that's on the left. Gets irritating to the ear to hear all the action going on in one ear, but I can't be fussy because I'm a bum and I don't have money.

..Is there any way to have the bf2 sound come out of the speakers, but just the VOIP voices sound in the headphone?
