You don't have to use CCC or even normal control panel. Use AtiTrayTools and you get even more tweak-options to mess around with than with ccc.
But on the otherhand, with Omega drivers you usually get the Placebo_Effect v0.05 which gives you the impression that something is improved...

Yeah go for it. Just earlier everyone was panicing just because there was no 5.12 drivers with the Control Panel.

What is the driver version number for Cat 5.12? I have 6.14.10.0362 for 2D, 3D, and OpenGL. I don't seen anything on the site about problems and I downloaded about an hour after you posted saying not to download (I rarely listen to people about stuff like that, no offense). When you first posted you said there was no control panel, but the catalyst center is there and I assume you realize that when you go for the control panel version you have to download it separately from the drivers. Now you're saying they forgot the drivers (which is obviously more important). But since the drivers are numbered differently, I'm curious if mine updated. Most likely they have. Anyway, thanks for the info.

I'm not sure about BF2, but my HL2 performance improved greatly. I was playing with all settings max before, but now I get no lag spikes at all and my fps is always 40+, and usually around 80.

Just installed them, I get a cli.exe error during startup but otherwise my gameplay was actually pretty good, very minor lag and very smooth.

Argh I just downloaded the 5.11 drivers a couple of days ago! Thanks for the info, though. I'll download them tomorrow.
