    Missing maps in singleplayer

    Hi all,

When I start up a singleplayer game, Iron Gator and Mass Desctruction aren't in the maplist - what's going on? Are they not configured for singleplayer games, or has something odd happened with my install?

    Please help!

THey didn't make those maps for SP, just like the didn't make Mashtuur or Kubra Dam for Single player in vanilla BF2.

EDIT: sorry, it was Leviathan, not Mass Destruction.

If you want to practice, you can still start a local server to have an explorer and play around those maps that are missing in SP.

Yeah... are the Co-op mod guys working on doing SF as well?

Not sure about the state of it, but... and I may be alone here... not entirely sure how much fun it would be. A 16 humans, fresh off ranked servers are going to WALK over a 16-player AI team in a matter of minutes...

No bots that way - but you can at least check out the map that way.

Thats one of the only things I hate about BF2. The SF multi-maps that aren't avaliable kinda suck so I don't care, but the BF2 maps look awesome. I wish there was a way to play in single player. I didn't even know about them for a while because I don't play online at all and on LAN very rarely. Iv'e effectively got 5 maps that I paid for that I can't use because I only play in single player. I don't understand what's so difficult about making them compatible. Mercmod just came out with a new Special Forces map (King Of The Hill 1) that works in single player. There's gotta be a way of tossing some bots into whatever map you want. Don't they act independently from the map? I can fill a 64player map with over a hundred bots with a bot changer. The AI get's a little confused at first but cleans itself up (everyone just stands around then runs in circles then head off to the enemy).

Hell, I'd pay for a single player unlock on those five maps. The Special Forces single player mode has 6 maps, so it's almost another expansion pack to someone like me =/

i would be requesting a portion of my money back from ea if i could only play the game in single player to make up for the missing maps. i would then take that money and use it to connect to the internet. anyway, if u can post on online forums, why would ppl wanna play sp anyway?

I don't get your question. I'm not saying that my connection is bad. I'm on cable. I'm just not into online gaming. Every server I've gone on has rules about what you're allowed to do. Some boot you off to make room for a "clan member", some force you to trade sides in the middle of a match. I like base sitting. I like flying copters (but I never do online because the "clan members" reserve the rights or I feel like I'll be an annoyance). I also, omg, accidently TK sometimes. If a team mate of mine is being stabbed, I try to help him by shooting the bad guy. Sometimes that results in some collateral damage.

Plus, there's too much server text on my screen. Everytime someone gets high and mighty and decides to punish a player for an accidental TK I have to look at the voting record for the next two minutes. And finally, since most people who are serious about the game belong to a "clan", it's basically them versus me. It's not like I can play long enough to develop any sort of strategy with the other lone players on my team. Or if by chance I end up on the clan team, they tell me what to do. I dunno, I just like running the show or being a strong backup, not being a pawn in someone elses game.

I can't think of a single reason why I'd rather play online than in single player.

Whilst I like playing online, I can see your point. It was very well put, too.
