Practice makes perfect. '6' is your paddles, '5' is your pack. '3' is your gun. '9' is your 'chute. You can remap the keys too if it's easier for you.

Good point man - I may remap the keys to:

1 = gun, 2 = pack, 3 = paddles

Since those are the three I use constantly.

Yeah i hate those medics that go deaf and cant hear your or even see you calling for them.. then you jump all around in there face and still no heals or med packs... its sad... BUT IF YOU Die.. boom revived lol

When someone calls for a medic - does it alert you on the map or something? I am usually to heat of the moment so I am just watching out for the guys around me to get low on life.

Personally I use the mouse wheel, though mistake do happen, tring to quickly switch to your rifle in a hurry and ending up with the defibs out is plain embarrising..

You can lone wolf it a bit in the medic kit... It is great for discreetly taking flags. You can cross the terrain and keep yourself at full health. you can then sneak in and grab the flag, fighting and healing yourself as required. With the L85A1 or the G36E it is a very good sniper hunting kit as you can find cover and heal yourself if the sniper beats you to the draw...

But like all the classes it is definately better in a squad...

I'll heal anyone who asks (or looks like they are going to ask, or simply is hurt and not moving much), I like those Teamwork Points...

If you are using WASD and you have your paddles and medic packs all the way over on 5, you have not given anythought to your key bindings.

Personally, I use UHJK, which gives me the RGHT WIN key under my thumb (more buttons to press). I have paddles at 'y' and med pack at 'l.' Bother extremely easy to hit. .. no fumbling waht-so-ever. The mouse buttons I use for weapons and spottings. . . things you need to do REAL fast in a battle.

If you are using WASD and you have your paddles and medic packs all the way over on 5, you have not given anythought to your key bindings.

Personally, I use UHJK, which gives me the RGHT WIN key under my thumb (more buttons to press). I have paddles at 'y' and med pack at 'l.' Bother extremely easy to hit. .. no fumbling waht-so-ever. The mouse buttons I use for weapons and spottings. . . things you need to do REAL fast in a battle.

The UHJK set-up is intereting - might try that out. Having Y & I as paddles and pack is nice.

I am telling you, march, it is far superior.

Having the three buttons under my thumb. . .as opposed to one with WASD gives you sooo many more options. With that set up I have ever battle intensive need right there at my finger tips. I don't even have to reach to the number keys to get to what I want (that move up is a little difficult).

Having the three buttons under my thumb. . .as opposed to one with WASD gives you sooo many more options. With that set up I have ever battle intensive need right there at my finger tips. I don't even have to reach to the number keys to get to what I want (that move up is a little difficult).

Yeah that makes a lot more sense - I am going to experiment with this definitely. What about radio commands with the "Q" key? Don't use em? On headset and such?

Yep. That guy blinks on the map. Just like when someone needs a ride or calls for pretty much anything else.

as for keyboard setup, im left-handed [well, partialy, as i write with my right hand, but use mouse with my left one] and that opens new ways of mapping kb

i use numerical kb for movement, and all other nearby keys for weapons, squad comm etc. i have my jump button on kp_home[7] and rifle under kp_pgup[9]. upper row [numlock one] is used for other weapon bindigs and reload. kp_enter is weapon_next. cursors are knife, pistol, alt fire etc. i got used to this setup so much, that i stick to it, even when i had to made a choice - ergonomical right-handed mouse and wsad setup, or plain, 3 button mouse and numerical setup.

i strongly suggest trying it if you are [or presume] to be left-handed [mouse wise]. numerical pad is simply great for gaming. it is shame tho, that left handed mice are so rare and hardly available in any quantities

Yes, as was previously answered. Also, when they die they show up on your mini-map.

As an aside, playing medic when you're commanding has it's advantages. As you're watching your team/squad's progress attacking or defending a base your team deaths show up on your Commander's screen just like they show up on your mini-map (red circle/hearts with bolt through them). I find that easier to keep track of than whether there were 4 blue dots there previously and now there are only 2. If you're wounded from an arty strike or while defending your assets you can heal yourself.

It can be very frustrating to play as medic occasionally.

The three absolute most frustrating things when trying to heal/revive someone:

#1 - Snipers, sitting up on their roof or whatever, calling for medic (or ammo) and not bothering to tell you about the claymore at the top of the ladder... You go up to throw them a pack and get Tk-ed.

#2 - People who again CALL for a medic (using comm rose) and dont stop to be healed. When someones uses the command to call for medic, they say "need a medic" out loud, they show up on a medic's radar, and you (the medic) show up their radar. They can see that you are running behind them and dont stop. You can throw a pack at them or on the ground, and you say "First Aid Here" verbally. They still dont stop. They could have just been hit by a sniper and have barely any health and rather than taking cover and getting healed, they just keep running, even when there is no combat anywhere near. I too get tired of wasting my sprint on these people.

#3 - Not being able to revive with the defib. Sometimes, you can shock 4 or 5 times and they are not revived. Playing with people in the same room, I have seen that sometimes it looks like you miss to them, but in fact you can be shocking them straight in the chest and it just doesnt register. Of course, missing does happen, and I play medic a lot and it is not uncommon for me to miss my first shock. Heh heh, sometimes, I will run and dive under fire, trying to revive someone and miss, sliding down a hill and them dying. I am sure it is quite annoying to be dead and seeing the medic jump and shock and miss and go down the hill, but it happens. Sometimes the fall kills me too. That is really embarasing

I like playing medic becouse they can heal and bring people back to life witch you get points for and you can still get points for killing poeple its sweet, best kit i think.
