Anyone ever use the Armored Personnel Carrier to carry personnel?

Well I was referring to events where a full squads leader starts jetting. Rips a good squad to pieces especially if this schlong is a replacement...
True story: similar happened tonight. Full squad gets put down when SL and chum get in a cobra. Whats the use of having SL when they do nothing for the other 80% of the team?
If my stats are to prove anything, its that i can defend myself. But not always, and doods like that dont help.
if he invites u to his squad and then stays in a full vechile 24/7, that's his fault. if he doesnt invite anyone, and other squad members just joined his squad themselves, the only thing he could do is to kick u guys out of his squad. :p
Re: Anyone ever use the Armored Personnel Carrier to carry personnel?
Well considering that APCs tend to be rolling death traps, I prefer not to load it up with personnel. Instead, I use it as a staging point. I dont assault with it, but I use it's cannon to provide cover and support for squads moving in. I'm almost always Support, so those nearby can grab ammo, or medic so they can heal. But I keep it outside the battle so I dont get hit with that lucky AT shot. Also, keep it moving. Sitting target is a dead target. Dont only use that smoke when you get a lock warning. Use it when you see anything that is of an immediate threat to you. Tanks especially. And key thing is, make sure you move when you pop smoke. Sure they cant see you, but they can still aim at you.

I do it all the time, especially since I'm usually squad leader in my clan. As I roll towards a flag numerous people generally spawn inside and when I get to the flag they hope out and help me take it.
Just talk to you squad mates, this game is about teamwork and coordination, you've got to communicate and explain your intentions.
Yeah a good squad leader drives and people spawn inside and then you cap flags in karkand with ease. If you have anti tank in a squad with the apc and an engineer, then an APC and 2 or 3 squad members can own Karkand and beat the crap out of other armour. Try riding in an APC as anti tank, when you meet other armour then jump out and help the apc. 99% of the time you can kill a tank with ease.
Re: Anyone ever use the Armored Personnel Carrier to carry personnel?
As an experienced AT player, I do love when I find APC's with multiple troops inside
It is, however, very rare. As an infantry player myself, I find I tend to have a much better chance of staying alive outside of the vehicle rather than as a passenger. The main reason nobody wants to ride in an APC is that the drivers tend to be kill whores, and not in the sense of battling tanks (which APCs are plenty powerful enough to do, if you know what you are doing). APC drivers (Most I have seen) like to hunt down poor defensless running infantry like a cat chasing rodents. Poor defensless Infantrymen.
But seriously, the APC driver will stop, back up, go down alleys, turn around, spin in circles... pretty much anything to hunt down one single troop. This makes them easy targets as long as you are not the poor guy they are hunting. The key to surviving in an APC and using it to correctly transport troops through a defended front is speed. Don't stop with it!! You have to use speed and cover and your smoke to get where the infantry want to go. When the driver stops to turn his cannon and gun down an infantryman, he is greatly increasing the chances of getting hit. It only takes two hits... so there isnt a lot of room for error.
But you guys are right, a good driver and good communication can really make an APC into a formidable assault weapon utilized by an entire squad rather than a single guy. Key is, as always, communication and consideration.
Re: Anyone ever use the Armored Personnel Carrier to carry personnel?
lol.. yeah there's some maps (songhua, zatar, etc.) where APC's are super usefull as since the flags are so spread out.... other times, when the flags are closer, they're usefull to take a back flag like a lot have mentioned (karkand especially - breaking through as USMC, or as MEC's if they're bottled up E of the river) ... it guess the bottom line is that it depends on the teamwork of the game - if you've got 60 lonewolf's, why bother?
but then again at other times, the air is so dominant, that it's DUMB to put a full squad in one... the 'eggs in 1 basket' thing...
speaking of which... you should checkout these Tactical Gamer servers... i found them a few weeks back, and i've been pretty much exclusively playing there since http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43934...
Re: Anyone ever use the Armored Personnel Carrier to carry personnel?
Man the APC rules with a full crew of men fireing all directions, this really coveres 360 degrees for kills on peskey specop c4 guys or At guys and you can really move fast to have you guys bail out and cap flags fast. The rocket is a one shot kill on vehicles, and tanks will fall prey is you can use your speed and get around them for a shot to their rear with rocket. When im support of anytype and i see a APC pull up next to me i will hop in, even for a quick few secs, to resupply or heal the apc and those around me. The thing is, the apc is not a tank but teamed up with a tank and with a squad that works togeather this pair of armored vehicles can win a round for team. The only worry is getting pwned from the air.

Yea, there are more important matters, but not every post on these forums has to be about something "pressing". You have a lot of work ahead of you if you're aiming to troll every thread that isn't of critical importance.
