Having a low K/D ratio does not mean you're a bad player. It's only one of an indicators regarding the kind of player you are. I have a K/D of .71, yet I win most one on one infantry engagement. I often play defensively as a result get atleast 4-7 deaths per round from artillery and Jets. That can be hard to make up if you don't use vehicles much. High vehicle use, especially Armour, Choppers and Jets have a huge impact on K/D ratio.

You just suck, to be honest if you can't get a kill to death ratio of 1 up then you suck.

kills : 8,047
Deaths : 3,280

Kill to death ratio : 2.45

Your Kill/Death ratios with guns are TERRIBLE. As a matter of fact, take away your airplane and your k/d might not even be 1.

Sponge hit it pretty well. Good vehicle K/D ratios are a dime a dozen. The pure infantry players have my respect, minus sniper of course

Nah I'd much prefer to have ace chopper or tank guy rather than a bloke who sits sniping in a corner the whole map, but each to their own.

This is very true. Defenders have a hard job. The good ones usually have to fight off 3 to 1 odds and rarely get the defend point because they take care of most of the attackers before they get near the flag. Important job without a lot of glory. Fun job though.

Most people with a k/d ratio above 2/1 specialize in vehicles which boost the k/d ratio dramatically. The average infantry player will have a 1/1 ratio, the good players will have around 1.5/1 ratio and the really exceptionally good players will have a 2/1 k/d ratio. So yes your ratio is a bit low but it will improve a lot as you play more and more, get experience and become familiar with the maps.

Ive got killed more than I kill. But lets take flag whoring into account. you can have a great game 19 kills and 4 or 5 deaths. then you spawn into an APC or tank or jet at the flag. [the only flag] and your death rate will triple. And lets not forget the commander and his Arty. O, and a blackhawk.

Or a MEC attack chopper.

I don't know what the certain people that say 'i have a life other than bf2' or 'you just have a life other than bf2' mean when they say that but to me it could only mean that they just play for entertainment purposes and aren't serious about the game. But, and no offense, who plays a game and has so much more of a life outside of bf2 but has enough time to go find a website for the game and type away in the forums? I mean, i may be wrong for saying that because maybe your definition of 'having a life outside of bf2' is different than mine. It just doesn't make sense anyone would say that here. Everyone has a life outside of BF2 or any other game besides that. Even if it's just eating and sleeping. It's still a life. But that insult doesn't cut it on the battlefield because push comes to shove you're just contradicting yourself. On another note. Yeah if you have a KD ratio below .8 and you have that good enough amount of time to come on this site then something has to be up with your skills. And yeah it does say a lot about your gameplay in some cases. Only time it wouldn't say much is if you're a big time medic and revive constantly and want to reach the top disregarding all the awards you can accumulate. Mine isn't the BEST but it's still above 1. Without the help of vehicle kills it's either right below or right above a 1. But yeah, that's my opinion. It's a kill or be killed game. Just don't be one of those people that say 'i dont think kd means anything' and then have a horrible KD ratio because your opinion won't matter much to anything or anyone. Stats are your friend. Awards are your friend. You want good stats so when someone calls you a nub online and they have that negative KD ratio you want to rub the fact that you are owning their points 3x as hard and then go check their stats on BFHQ when they're still talking junk and then rub it in their face and announce to the server that they effin suck and don't deserve to call anyone a nub....alright sorry about that :P happened to me today.

You don't suck. If your doing mostly stuff like getting flags and points for other things than thats cool cause BlaZiN.uk is like that and he's the number one player. I've played with him before and he get's MAD points by capturing flags and assisting his guys.
