Re: Where is a tank guide?

Tanks are the most important aspect (next to helicopters) in 8v8 competition, and this article will outline some of the reasons why.

Read the top of the article first. These tactics apply in lesser numbers but won't work on a filled 64 player server.

The guy who wrote that knows his stuff and has some really good points. However, I don't agree with his style of play and since his is just opinion much like my own, no one should take it for law or how things have to be done.

Also let’s clarify something on my use of the word "camping". I camp. We all camp. It's a different matter all together when you’re "camping" an enemy spawn point and not attempting to aid your team in taking the flag. That is a whole different matter. That's stat padding vs. teamwork. My personal opinion of my job in a tank is to not only defend from the onslaught of the enemy, but to also cap as many flags as I can alone or in numbers. I do NOT sit in one spot and wait for things to happen. I make them happen.

I grab flags, repair teammate’s vehicles, destroy enemy armor and vehicles and cover my troops. I do not sit next to a box and shoot people as they spawn. That is the main thing I disliked that was said. Let’s also make it VERY clear that I do not only drive a tank. I do plenty of ground work and use the rest of the vehicles as well. I really don’t care how I get to the flag; I just want to take it when I get there. If I do it in a tank of sitting on a gun in a buggy, the end result is the goal. Own that control point.

      Gotcha... Mr. 1200+ n00b t00b kills.... lol.

In a 64 person match I am even less likely to put my tank up for enemy abuse, it's a valuable team asset. A lot of time, lost of tank on the front can mean lost of the battle. (especially in Karkand)

Now I am not against people who wants to take flag, it's great, really, but it should be done by infantry. Tanks are simply not meant for taking flags. They are meant for infantry support.

Now, don't call people who prefer to use tank as a tool of infantry support noob or attempt to ban them. I play on your server too, I rarely deliberately camp a spot. I only camp when my team is about to attack.
