Xcalabur video card 128m (hopefully getting a better graphics card)
    1GB of ram
19.1 mb on hardrive (thats free) (hopefully getting a nother hardrive!
    Windows XP
    Dsl Connection
    thanx

    probably mid settings

my specs are very low and bf2 runs pretty well.

    just get another HD.

Never heard of the Xcalibur..but after looking it up, it seems that there are a few different models. Your performance will really depend on which model you have.

Your CPU is going to likely give you some problems.

I'm assuming you mean that you have 19 GB free (instead of MB) on your hard drive

I'm going to guess that you'll be able to play on low settings with maybe a couple of things on medium.

It'll still run well enough to enjoy the game.

even on a 2.4GHZ? Even if i get all of the stuff i wanted for christmas it still won't run well?

I meant that if you stayed with your current setup, you'd run well but on very low settings.

With a better CPU and graphics card, you'll see a huge improvement and could turn things up a bit.

With the upgraded proccessor unless it is a 64 bit as you don't seem to have stated what it is and the Ghz really says jack all, you might get a few settings on medium but that will be pushing it.

The processor being 64 bit or not is a moot point. (Yes, i know 64 bit processors still offer a bit more speed over 32-bit counterparts even running 32 bit mode, but its still a moot point for this.)

You really need tostop giving out PC advice, because you are wrong 99% of the time.

Say the one who is talking complete BS, 64 bit proccessors have a completly different archtecture and will go far faster than the same speed 32 bit one, go look at the facts before commenting bud.

I look at the facts every single day. Im a Networking and Communications Major and the majority of my classes thus far have been hardware based

Like i said, 64-bit processors DO run a little better in 32 bit mode than 32-bit processors...but the boost isnt so signifigant that its gonna mean he needs a vastly better 32 bit processor. Not in the slightest.

They go faster, just not "far" faster.

Unless they are running a 64 bit application because the 32 bit processor wont even do it.

                  go back to school.

WTF are you on about, in this situation you will get far better graphics settings if it was the same Ghz 64 bit processor than a 32 one, so maybe you should go back to school, as you don't seem to have learnt anything while you were there.

Graphics settings arent even CPU dependant, DUMBASS!!

Yes they are, it is well known that BF2 uses the CPU far more than the GPU in comparision to other games, there for your settings will increase.

Re: How good will my computer run?

the CPU processes the baseline tasks. The essentials of the program.

The GPU processes textures and things dealing with the actual graphics and some of the physics.

Plus, like i already said. YES a 64 bit processor at similar clocks is faster. Just not SO much faster than he is gonna see a massive increase. A little, but not a ton.

The simple fact is...he can get by fine on a 32bit CPU, but 64 bit CPUs are cheap enough that everyone should be upgrading to them anyway. But a 2.4Ghz 32 bit or 64 bit are both going to do just fine.

After all, i run a 64 bit 2.4Ghz processor and BF2 runs GREAT. But it also runs better on a friend of mines 32 bit 2.66 Pentium 4 that has slightly better video card than I have, and the same RAM.

The CPU is truly a moot point if they are that close in clock speed.

i guess it's 19.1 GB? if it's 19 MB, u gotta free ur harddrive up first lol..

*EDIT* for the ppl who were suggesting him get a 64bit CPU, if he does so, he will have to get a new motherboard too, in other words, he gonna a new computer, except for his RAM which probably still can be used.
