Now, now. No need for such language. While I personally don't agree with "whoring", I don't think parish falls into the vehicle "whore" category.

I just don't have as much respect for a good tank user as I would for a good infantryman. The reason is very mathematical.

Let's say that a given map has 500 elements on it that could kill someone. Every gun, every piece of artillery, every exploding barrel, every mounted machine gun, every TOW, every grenade, etc.

When you're on foot, all 500 are a threat. When you're in a jeep, 400 are a threat, in an APC 300, tank 200, helicopter 100, and jet... 5.

That said, people who excel in tanks, for example, are just not that well-respected because they're at far less risk than other players. And the general consensus is that if you're safer, you're more likely to die less and be empowered to get more kills, do more damage, and score more points. So when you pull in a 50-2 round in a tank we all say, "Eh, no big deal. There aren't that many things that can kill him on this map (say, Karkand), and if he played it conservative, there are almost none."

So yea, you have skill, but you're not managing as many threats or experiencing the same vulnerabilities as the full-time foot soldier who pulls 25-10.

Just to put it in more perspective - when I'm tired or feeling lazy, I either drive armor or gun in the attack helicopters. They're a heck of a lot less taxing to do for me.

Hello, I'm Immunity and I'm an Attack Helo whore.
Parish, good on ya man, I know exactly where you are coming from and fully support your stance 100%.

First of all:
1. I have NEVER fired a shot at someone about to "gank" my precious helo, be they inside or out of it. You got to it first, its yours. Have fun. If I get in and you want your squaddy or buddy to gun, just ask and I'm out. Simple as that.
No need to spam hop out, insult me with your 1337 speak, just ask.

2. I'm good at what I do. I dare say I am DAMN good. Why does that automatically label me a whore? I don't spawnrape, spawncamp, or whathaveyou. I simply have a lot of time in all of the attack helos, and although I by far favor the Cobra/Apache, I can achieve gold in any attack helo you give me. I have a lot of hours logged, have learned offensive manuvering in its purest and most aggressive form, and I devestate. Am I cheating? No. Am I invulnerable? No. Why then, am I a whore? The way I see it, if I grab that Cobra and get 60 kills during the round, I'm helping my team via bleeding the opponents, correct? Why all the hate?

Now, for examples of sheer and utter stupidity (taken from those that took it upon themselves to call me a whore during various rounds):
1. An assaulter going prone and firing at me with his <insert gun of choice here>.
2. An APC that feels it is a good idea to fire at me with its main gun
3. A fully loaded RIB, who's gunner feels its in the best intrest of his passangers for him to shoot at me.

The list goes on...and yet, try as I may, I can't seem to determine any logic to these actions. However, I'm getting off point...

Lets get two things straight:
1. If you shoot at my attack helo (beit HIND, Cobra, Apache, or Z10), the probability of you dying is extremely high.
2. If I see you, and I don't have more pressing matters on my hands at the moment (as in a Tunguska or Linebacker I am preparing to strafe), you will die.

Its nothing personal, that's just how it works. Kill or be killed, tis the foundation of this, or any other FPS, is it not?

Why is it then, that lately (the past month or so), I've recieved more flamings from individuals in the abovementioned categories, and even those on the enemy team that I haven't even had the pleasure of dispatching yet, then I have in the past 3-4 months?

Stop the hate.
I've done nothing wrong but play via the same rules as everyone else abides by. :P

Good comment, as you say a good functioning squad will take down a tank every time, I wish people would come on this or other forums and read the posts from experienced players, learn something and dont treat the game as a single player shoot em up, said this thousands of times - Team Play is far more fun. Hate jets though, god I hate those things, however I admit that it's my teams pilots job to neutralise that threat so I don't cry about it, just curse .

If you are great in armour good for you, just dont TK to get the kit and tolerate less talented players.

It's debatable to allow the commander to quickly assign some of the vehicles to pilots/drivers who apply, stop the TK nonsense. You get killed and then spawn in that vehicle, don't know how you would work that without being grossly unfair to other players but when you have 10+ players fighting over jets and tanks then whats worse?

Why must there be so many haters out there? It never seems to end. What makes a person in a vehicle a whore? Is it because they drive well? Is it because you’re stupid and run out in front of them and die? Maybe it’s because you suck at it and I don’t.

To all who whine about tanks, listen up. If you’re good at something, then what's wrong with using your skill to be the best at it? You're probably the same people who cry when you're being bombed over and over again. You need to wake up and smell the self-doubt. It's not my fault that I can successfully take flags by myself in my tank. I don’t feel bad when you’re in the middle of the street and my slow assed tank runs you over because you run in a straight line. I won't lose sleep over backing up just as you think you're going to lay C4 on me. It's not my fault I know how to use 3rd person and watch my surroundings. Honestly, do you think you stupid little n00b t00b does anything but make it take 3 more seconds to kill you? It doesn’t.

You cry because you can't seem to figure out how I killed you. You cry because you run at me full speed with a car full of C4 and get owned. You don't even get close. You whimper and moan when I shoot your helicopter down. You call me a hack for shooting down jets that are stupid enough to run right at me at barrel height.

I use the weapons and environments I am given in the game. I am good at using a tank and if you think I will stop using it as long as it’s in the game, you’re wrong and you need to grab a box of Kleenex and work it out in the closet alone in the dark.

It would not matter if I was driving a tank or a cardboard box. What ****es you off is I am good at it and you’re not. I won’t apologize for that. Shut your hole and learn to use the weapons in the game the developers gave you to combat people like me. Learn to be sneaky, use C4 and the AT to keep me away from you.

I get owned all the time by peeps who are good with the AT kit. I don’t cry about it. I learn from it. I am even willing to help you become more proficient in a tank with some simple pointers if you ask for them. The one defense against vehicles and airpower has to do with the most basic concept of the game; teamwork. If you would learn to use the squads, ask for arty and actually support your teammates, you would possibly have some fun and stop crying uncontrollably.

For those of you who bitch about clans. Well, guess what? I am in a clan because the guys I play with support each other in the game and work as a unit to accomplish one goal only. Win the round. Once you learn to be more of a team player, you might win some too.

You see people you need players like this to back you up on the battlefield when your running out of ammo and your pinned theres nothing more than having a terrific team player such as this Tank crewmen to back you up!:evil:
