Re: Wow, you guys are right about the amount of skill n00b tubing takes
All I have to say is the OICW was in Ghost Recon and that fired 12 40mm nades at once before reloading, so I am from the old school where noob tubing was born. So grow up and get used to it, atleast they don't fire more than once before reloading so get to steppin' before you become roadkill and everything will be alright.
You have 4-5 seconds before the reload completes and by that time I'm dropping two to the chest and one to the head. So if you can't kill someone while thier reloading and all you have is gripes about it then you should be stabbing rocks in everquest because this is not the game for you.

[quote=puglous]Today I was playing SF on warlord and half if not more of the enemy team was assualt. I kept getting killed by the grenade launcher. /quote]
For me, I bought a game and in that game there is a weapon that works really well for killing people. So, that's the weapon I chose, because I wanted to kill as many people as possible......simple choice.

Threads that should be deleted:
1. give the nade a blast radius (go play a more realistic game ffs, not an arcade style, k?)
2. nerf the noob toob (get over it, learn to use it as well, or shut your piehole)
3. how do I combat the noob tube? (go find a spot in the map where you can curl up in the fetal position and cry, perahps the CO can give u a supply drop of kleenex).
The heck with banning over nade luanchers, bunny hopping, or prone jumping (the later 2 I dispise mysefl). I mean, if they did that, what'd be next?
"ban the rifles, they hurt, owie. please go pistol onlly"
The name of the game uses the word "Battlefield", the game is a "War". And as the ancient cliche' goes, "all is fair in love & war".
Re: Wow, you guys are right about the amount of skill n00b tubing takes
you guys forget grunts are supposed to have low IQs so they cant use compliceted weapons and tatics. you give them something to point and shoot. If youre smart you become an Officer, if you not you become a grunt. Its as simple as that

To add on to ban the rifles and only use pistols: "owie, ban the pistols, they can kill from more than 5 feet away, only knifes and shock paddles are non noob weaps"
Later on: "OMG, the shock paddles and knives are for noobs only, i mean it's a one shot kill, omg, the only non noobish weapon is sprinting into eachother (it actually does cause damage when yuo do that)"
That's how i imagine BF2 in 2-3 years.

Have you people ever even PLAYED assault???
People who are good at the GL aim BEHIND the person they are shooting at to AVOID getting killed.

People are frekkin whiners because they want to have all their little toys like C4 and medic packs and ultra-accurate unlocks and pwn everyone. Well I have news for you....ASSAULT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE MOST DEADLY GROUND KIT.
Those kits you use FOR the purpose assault are SUPPOSED to be used for support roles, or blowing up the enemy arty, and setting booby traps....but YOU CHOOSE to use them as an "all purpose kit" which INCLUDES assaulting.....and then get owned. Well, it is you own dam fault for choosing the wrong kit of the job.
You can't have you cake and eat it too....I don't whine "OMG nooBer medic and his free heath!". Would I like to have unlimited heath, sure, but I have to give up other attributes to get this, which in certain situation may be the WRONG choice.
It you CHOOSE to be medic or spec-ops then you have to live with the consequences, YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE AS GOOD 1:1 with assault.........end of story.
this post should have ended the discussion, absolutely correct. I play as assault or medic and consistantly finish higher as medic due to the teamwork scores.
Different kits are going to have different advantages and disadvantages, I don't understand why it's so difficult to see that.
Re: Wow, you guys are right about the amount of skill n00b tubing takes
I don't mind some nadelamers on a pub but when you're in a competition and the entire enemy team is grenading for 4x20 minute rounds it tends to get boring.

Yeah, 3-4 noobtubers on each team is alright. But if you're team or the other team has like 15 noobtubers and like 1 medic, you know it's gone too far. The only way you ever get killed is with the noobtoob.
Re: Wow, you guys are right about the amount of skill n00b tubing takes
I disagree, the assault kit takes a LOT of thinking. This fantasy that the GL is a perfect weapon is totally false. In fact, it can be a hinderance in many situations.
Assault takes "thinking" because you have to know when to use the GL and when to use your rifle. I am CONSTANTLY switching between GL and rifle during various situations. If I just kept the GL selected all of the time I would get owned ALL THE TIME.
The proof is in the pudding, most people aren't assault and there is a reason. The class is as difficult to master as any, and just because in a FEW situations the GL is a great weapon over all using it properly and consistantly takes just as much skill as any other weapon.
I don't know how much clearer I can make this. I DID PLAY ASSUALT. And I never even touched my rifle until I was out of ammo.
All I have to say is the OICW was in Ghost Recon and that fired 12 40mm nades at once before reloading, so I am from the old school where noob tubing was born. Don't waste our time with your idiocy. I don't give a crap what other games do. Flaws are flaws.
Well here we go again! EA Im sure feels your pain. They think that they need to do something about the granade launcher. Thats why they added another granade launcher, and in doing so have sent the message...... Mooo Ha Ha Ha.... And you think they might change the Granade launchers? Instead of nerfing the thing they added another. At this rate, if you keep complaining, every rifle in the game will wind up with a granade launcher. So it seems to me the choice is clear either learn to defend against the GL or learn to use the GL because its gonna be around a long time, just like it is....Red
Not true, in BF2, every faction had a grenade launcher. The USMC and MEC no longer do.
omg stfu you noob complaining about the noob tube still. it is obvious that if u use it too much then your a noob and if u get pwned by it too much then you are also a noob. see it balances out just fine lol stupid noobs if you spent the same amount of time practicing as u did complaining about whores and how the game should be played and blah blah you might actually pwn some noobs yourself once in a while.
Listen, I sympathize with the mentally challenged have to go through in life but calling me a "noob" and a "stupid noob" wasn't called for. And look at my stats. A 1.4+ k/d ratio isn't obtained without a bit of n00b pwning.
WTF , its a feckin weapon . Just cos ppl get owned by it they bleet like lambs to the slaughter. Hand grenades do the same but no one says WTF that guy is a "hand nad noober" if it keeps you and your squad alive then hey me n my squad are the ones moving to the next flag .
It is because hand grenades take a lot more skill and can be easily avoided if you notice them.
For me, I bought a game and in that game there is a weapon that works really well for killing people. So, that's the weapon I chose, because I wanted to kill as many people as possible......simple choice.
I agree to an extent. I don't think n00b tubers are bad people or are necessarily unskilled. However, it gets annoying when you always need to use one weapon and takes away many of the finer elements in the game.

How many times are you guys going to spew that crap about this being a war out of your mouths? IT'S A GAME! It's like saying "Don't crash or we'll both die in a fiery blaze." while playing a flight simulator (note the word SIMULATOR) You just use it to buy time. I actually don't find it fun to use one point-and-click style weapon the whole freaking game, so I'm trying to get heard by EA.
you guys forget grunts are supposed to have low IQs so they cant use compliceted weapons and tatics. you give them something to point and shoot. If youre smart you become an Officer, if you not you become a grunt. Its as simple as that
No, if you go to officers school you become an officer.
Re: Wow, you guys are right about the amount of skill n00b tubing takes
Why doesn't someone actually add up how many times they die to an assault rifle vs dying to the GL?
Then you can say that assault rifles should be nerfed cause you die so much by them! weeeeee
My point is, you have probably died much more vs. vehicles and regular guns. You just notice it more when it's a GL - I know I do.
I've killed 1000's of people before they had a chance to fire back - with rifles. I've also had experience enough with the GL to know that I don't get any more kills with it than I do with my AK series.
