More on topic: I'm still a horrible Sniperizor, but I rearly get sniperized myself. So obviously sniperizing does require some form of skill.

        Works in SF too.
I got my Assualt Specialist badge from going commander. I know I didn't get 10 kills because I was too busy hiding after our previous commander had bailed out.

It doesn't count as kills in reguards to your score, but it still counts towards badges.
Okay, my bad. So it still counts towards badges? Very interseting...

The difficulty of sniping is highly dependent on the type of players on the server, the map, the # of vehicles in use, hell even the persistence of the commander. If you have a bunch of players that don't like getting into vehicles on a map that bunches players together like Karkand and like to lay down or stay nearly stationary playing on a team without a commander or one that doesn't call out locations when doing a scan, then yes, sniping can be like taking can be like taking candy from a baby...

If on the other hand, you have players that constantly move, large #s of vehicles, commanders or squad members that call out snipers, it can be quite hard on a sniper. Why? If you get rushed by more than a couple of people you are fubar'd...a vehicle, even as lowly as a jeep...fubar'd, out in the open somewhere...cannon fodder.

I think you were just in the right place at the right time with the right kit. The same thing can happen with just about any of the kits, given the right situation you can wreck havoc with it...

          Just my $0.02...

Artillerization (<-- take THAT :p ) counts for ribbons and other awards too. The only reason that I have an air-defence ribbion is because I was hiding in the midships point defence gun on the Essex while commanding.

The second round of artillerizing I had called resulted in my ribbon. Didn't intend on it, but it came anyway.

bf2 sniping dont take skills as in speed. like the other guy said, u gota take ur time to take bullet drops and range in consideration. if the bf2 sniper rifles are as precise as the css ones, u have no idea how fast i can take ppl out, like usually i open the scope, spot a person, slide the crosshair onto him really quikly, then click . all htat take about 1.5 second, thats in css, the point of sniping is how fast u can slide ur mouse, and keep the crosshair on target at the same time, but in bf2, u slide that fast, even if ur crosshair is on him. it wouldnt hit him, for some reason, u gota move ur mouse very slowely, keep the crosshair on him for awhile... then when ur sure..... u shoot.... and all that happens in about 6 seconds.

I think a good point that was brought up is that anyone can call themselves a "sniper" if they think they can hit people from far away with their m24 or what ever they have...but the true skill to become a "real" sniper is being able to 1. not get detected and 2. help out the team by calling out enemy positions and tanks.

there is nothing better than a 200+ yrd kill with one shot. i have my vet sniper badge and did it the old fashion way.......by killing with the rifle and no i'm not the best sniper and have been killed by other snipers, but i love a good sniper hunt.

yea i would say beginners luck. alot of my sniper kills involves me shooting them once with the m24 and finishing them off with the 92fs lol
