My 6800gt runs the same after the 1.12 patch pretty damn smooth. However you may want to look into some "modified" drivers to help out performance.

well i have AMD Athlon 2700+ 2.17Ghz 1024Mb RAM and Point of View Geforce 6800GT 256 all okay on BF2 verything on HIGH not only antiliasing i set in on x2 not on x4...............using 1.03 patch

To clarify: There are many people with 6800 cards that have low fps issues, but there´s also people with those cards where fps stayed the same after the patch. AFAIK it´s currently unknown what causes the slowdown, it´s a good bet though that certain hardware/software combinations play a role, and the gfx card is just one piece of this puzzle.

It seems that especially 6800 series card owners are screwed, now after the 1.12 patch. All major BF2 forums are full of people complaining that BF2 ran smooth with their 6800 (GT) and now are only getting about 15 fps in most situations.
I also got a 6800 GT, and the very same happened to me. BF2 ran like a charm pre 1.12, now I only get <20 fps. Hopefully, a new hotfix will come out soon, only then many 6800 card owners will be able to play normal again.

My 6800GT works fine too, though I will need to have more than 1GB RAM to make the most of it...

Don't know about you man but I run a 7800GT Oc'd on an AMD athalon 3500+ with 2 gig or RAM maxing out BF2 with 4 AA at around 110 FPS.

I got a 6800Gt 128 cheap and I can run at med res no aa or af as I have an AGPx4 board and only a 2.4 amd Athelon (NON 64). I have 1 GIG ram, but I have a feeling that the AGP4 and slow processor totally hamstring the GPU. In low it's great, in med fine for karkand. But if I ramp up AA or AF it all goes a bit pete tong. Im going straight for 2 gigs ram and a SLI nforce 4 board and and an AMD 4000+ 64 after xmas. As the FX 55 and 57 are still way to pricey!

yea sure the sli boards r the way 4wards the nvidia bfg cards r outstanding 7 series? duals core processors, i have an athlon x64 2.1ghtz with an overclocking board from abit but like urself am getting the sli upgrade next yr, c u on the battlefield, anuvver tip is to make sure ur agp apeture size iin the bios is set 2 256mb???i have done mine and it works fine, all settings in bf2 r on medium wiv no AA and 100% view distance????

6800GT rulz, just uipdate your AUDIO driver and you wont get any low fps -.-
