The helos in Leviathan 64 player are hard. Thay are hard to see. Especially the Apache.

Next time the enemy team has both attack choppers on ghost town, get in the stinger site back at your base and get your AA badges. :-) I popped the same pair of guys 4 times in a row last time I was on the side without the copters. Lockon, let him waste flares, wait for next lockon, fire both tubes. If he stays in range the entire time and you know wtf you're doing, he isn't going to get to his 2nd flaredrop until after the stingers have a chance to tag him.

Honestly, shooting down copters on that map is trivial. You can see(lock) one of them from your stinger site before it even gets off the pad. Between the layout of the map and all the AA, if you can't take out an enemy copter, you need to stop playing bf2 like it is a single-player game.

it is also pretty easy to double-team them with AT kit, if you're using voicecomms.

if you fly a lot, you will learn the characteristics of motion that cause the chopper to be vulnerable. i usually get the chopper i am aiming at. and then i steal it or get one for myself. heh heh

I still think a few of you are missing the easy point here. Yes the Hind is more armoured than the other choppers but it is so much easier to snipe the pilot than the others. Just aim the 50 cal at "the bubble" and ping away. It may take a few tries but keep firing at the pilot window and you will get a kill. The Hind is fat and slow and for some reason the pilots I have seen love to hover and kill. Easy shot really. Playing "Surge" the other night resulted in three pilot kills in one round. I loved thinking about what was going through the gunners mind as the chopper started lurching out of control . . .

yes, yet another way the choppers are not a big problem. and if you get him on the pad from a high vantage, just zip to the chopper and viola its yours.

Im not a pilot, Ive tried it and Im fairly good at it but I get bored, I encounter alot of ultimate heli whores on the Iron Gator. Put it this way, my two man squad, completely on foot racked up 278 points between us (record?). While the heli whores got no flag capture and still only placed mid leaderboard. Get out those damn choppers and fight like a man I say.

just FYI if you are assault class 3 GL hits will take down a chopper. I did it last night twice.

Shoot an AT rocket to the cockpit. Thats an easy way to kill the pilot. It's not even very hard.

Anyone else getting raped by the helicopters in SF?
They are so hard to shoot down!!! When your in the stinger and get a lock-on, the pilot drops flares. Fine! I´ll wait them out to get a clear shot. But by the time I get a new lock-on, the stupid flares are reloaded too!
And if you for once get a clear shot, the stinger ALWAYS miss!
It´s almost impossible to get them down. Don´t even get me started on the Essex-map :cry:

Anyone got any tips?

Heli are tough to take down but i think it is not impossible. Thanks for the pro tips here.
