PLAY as a Squad, WIN as a Team

Why can't people understand that simple concept?

In a squad you are not just 6 men, you are a SQUAD of 6, which is more powerful than 6 individual men.

It just doesnt make sense why people don't automatically want to play in full squads....makes no sense

That's never been my experience, your usually flanked and killed in short order. ..with your pistol popping in your hand as you get owned.

If I join a squad and people are active on VOIP and it's not a bunch of smacktards I'll play and coordinate. Otherwise I'll do my own thing. Why join a squad if I'm not playing with them? To earn the Distinguished Service Medal. I need:

        * IAR: Team score of 53
        * 100h Total time as commander
        * 100h Total time as squad leader
        * 100h Total time as squad member

        Currently I have:
        Commander: 7.09 Hours
        Squad Leader: 78.28 Hours
        Squad Member: 69.32 Hours

In 30 hours or so of playing I'll never EVER join as a squad member again, unless I'm playing with people I know. I hate it - unless it's a decent squad.
The 93 hours of commander time will be a challenge, but I think I can do it. It's really the only medal I stand a chance of getting with my activity level so I'm going for it. In a perfect world I'd play straight up with my squad, but we all know that most squads don't do diddley. Also, I really enjoy playing Lone Wolf, I'm pretty good at making it fun.

          What does IAR mean?

It means In A Round, (I took that from UBAR). So I need 53 team points IAR, which is easy enough and I've done it before, but I have to get them again after I have the other qualifications met.

Eh. I still prefer to play alone, but that's just the best medium for my playstyle.

I tried playing 4-5 games on Tactical Gamer tonight but I was very unimpressed with the teamplay (there wasn't any - 2 games our team didn't have a commander) and the low skill of 90% of the people on there. Plus they don't have any unlocks enabled.

Re: PLAY as a Squad, WIN as a Team

Just 5 minutes ago, I was in a squad of 6. Squad leader gets maimed by some c4 going up the stairs in Devil's Perch; now at this point its common coutesy for SL to quit and rj the squad, therefore keeping the SL at the objective. Noooooooooo SL cant handle his shocking death, and in short order I am arty, and squad mates are eaten alive like, 3 minutes later....

I spawned at the HQ as USMC only to find SL trying desperately to get the APC. I swear to ****ign god i almost shot that stupid bastard in the back of his retarded head, to avoid the tk i emptied my clip at his feet.

Here we are, losing 140 - 190 and he can't wrap his tiny mind around simply giving up the SL position.

And here I am recalling just two nights ago when myself and an australian earned as a squad over 300 points. I die, rj as squadmate and spawn on him, if he dies i try to rez if he cant he rj. This fundamental understanding of the system is what can perpetuate a squad for a VERY LONG TIME.

ALSO I might add, taht tonight this feller was taking 3 seaters for himself, running around on his own in the middle of nowhere, and generally being the "n00b" that we all hate and despise.

                      ArtanisNZ, you suck.

I will not play on servers where VoIP is not active or when i join the srever there are no people joining squads.
I have been spoilt by playing On TacticalGamer servers, they're just fantastic. Nearly everyone if on VoIP and you have to joing a squad. You all work as a team it is brill!

I have been forced to play on my own a few times but I get bored so so quick, the game is rubbish without good squads.

Go to tacticalgamer.com and joing the server 1 and 2, they are brilliant!

It's frustrating as hell when your team is getting owned and you have maxed out the number of squads with one or two guys in each OR you've got 32 guys playing on your side and only about 8 in squads.

I always join squads if for nothing more than having a better of chance of being able to spawn where the action is. And if I end up in a really good one that communicates, uses the classes to support each other, and sound tactics, it tends to be some of the best BF experiences ever.

?? tacticalGamer no teamwork? players with low skill?

your insane, its the exact opposite. You must have been on vanilla server #1 last night. A good portion of TG was playing on the SF server #2, so I imagine server #1 was mostly normal pubbies without TG members to glue the team play together. Try a night where you see |TG| tags. I was playing on server #2 last night and every single player on the server was in a squad and everyone was on VOIP... it was intense.
