No chance, I guess. The EA-nazis hate the mod community apparently. That makes me so mad.

Besides, this would most certainly help SF sales rather than hurting them. People who see pics of grapplehooking and ziplining in Karkand or their other favorite vanilla maps will want to do it too!

I should just spite them and convert all the BF2 maps over and post them to the official BF2 forums. No matter how long it lasts, as long as at least some people get it. Time to start a revolution!

Okay...so doing ANYTHING with SF content isn't legal until then?

Well, I guess they'll have to find me before they can sue me.

They may not necessarily sue you, but they can very well make you not play your map online. If its an unranked server you or your clan or someone else purchased from a company (rent), they ll contact the company, and shut down the server or tell them to take out the map. OR if its a dedicated server, they ll contact your ISP. Companies like EA has hundreds of people working on just stuff like this. Their job is to protect their product against copyright infringement .

Of course its possible to use the bf2 editor.
Ive just finished a SF map.
The only thing you cant do is shadows for sf content as EA have not released the lightmap samples yet.

The editor just needed tweaking to open sf content

No i understand that, but you can not have the nightmaps the way they are in SF maps, or you can not model new nightlook or the other stuff. From the day the SF was released, everybody knew about the .con file edit tweak to get bf2editor to load sf stuff.

Dont forget, the mapping section of editor is only 1/6, the rest is usually for mod teams, and for them, a new editor has to be released because many things can not be implemented yet.

Sorry, missunderstood your post. Yeah you can map for it, and yeah you can do night maps.
You just cant use night vision correctly, like you said.

Hey Maranello! I remember you from a game on FMG Masthuur 24/7 . When you were spamming the chat when I was flying the Blackhawk. "AHHH IM SCARED... DONT KILL US..." Stuff like that. Haha, anyways...

Let me get this 100% straight.

I am making a movie, that will (If I can get it to work) pit USMC and Insurgent forces against eachother. Will I be able to do that legally as long as they have to have SF to "act" in my movie?

Will do, at the moment we are still waiting for the lightmap samples, without them there will be no shadows of the SF objects.
Im considering not using any SF objects on first release. At least you will be able to play it in SF mode, weather they are BF2 objects or SF.
But until EA/DICE release the lightmap samples, there are no shadows for SF objects.
I presume they will release them along side the new editor.

lol, i was drunk that day horribly, i remember in another server i was asking someone about the bus schedule.

Anyways, back to your question. I think you can do whatever you want to do since its only a movie. I don't there is anything you need to worry about. But if you want to be 100% sure, contact LBrown, you can PM from BF2 editor forums.

                                Hey Maranello,
Since the discussion about getting SF stuff in to the 'vanilla' version (custom map offcourse), i got a little question myself.
Right now in building a map with lots of water involved.
With this in mind i did not want to rely on the RIP alone and was looking for some good water vehicle.
Having played SF for the first time yesterday, i thought the jet ski would be the kind of vehicle i was looking for.

And now my real question, is it possible to use the jet ski from SF and put it in my custom map.

I know this was possible in BF1942, even DICE used it themselves.
Invasion of the Philipenes for instance.
