why did they put a 8 for SF graphics...its the same freaking engine!!
Because it's 6 months later. Hell didn't Op Flashpoint get a really high graphics score?
SF got a lower score because it's cumulative with BF2, they scored it as a separate entity. Value went down because it doesn't add all that much to the original, and gameplay went down because of performance issues; notice where it says Stability: Major Problems. On the other hand, it says Battlefield 2 is "Stable", so...
Maybe the graphics score includes the hardware requirements. I know I was extremely disappointed that I had to change my anti-aliasing from 4x to 2x due to some jerkiness on night maps. I mean, I just spent 2 grand on a PC so I could play BF2 on the highest settings.
The score would be equal had the elements be judged by the standards six months ago.
But that's not reality. So maybe everyone who takes exception to the rating should work toward putting the score in perspective, not as being worse, but as being the best possible score given the new standards.
Plus, I don't believe that DICE Canada has as high quality an output as the Swedish office. I felt that BF1942 was better than BFV, despite being older. Gamespot rated BFV .3 points lower than BF1942, even though BFV came out 2 years after BF1942.
thats how gamespot is with their ranking systems. Why is it the same game but for different systems (pc, xbox, etc) can have such a difference in score? Just look at Battlefront 2 on gamespot, the xbox version is the "best" in their opinion compared to all the others.
So in otherwords, don't even look at those scores, its just their opinion about a game. The only scores I look at on gamespot are the ones actual people who've played it submitted
It's not like they have some set test that determines that score, they just judge it based on what they thought about it at the time and then make up whatever numbers they feel like
