I still have the CD key though, is there any way of installing BF2 and still play online LEGALLY? i dont really wanna spend another $68CDN and buy another copy.

Use daemon tools + BF2 mini image + set safedisc emulation. and voila.

A much easier solution is to go pick up a little scratch cleaning kit. Unless you've really gouged the surface deep, you should be able to repair it.
It'll cost ya just a few bucks.
Downloading and burning an image can presnt some problems.
A) it's not exactly legal. It can be argued into the gray, but *whatever*.
b) it's easy for people to post images of games that contain "interesting" additions. Like viruses, trojens, bombs, etc.

This is what I did so i wouldn't break my bf2 dvd.
Load up alcohol and make an image of the disc, but since you broke yours that's out of the question.
Try gamecopyworld.com, and see if they have a mini-image for it.

The mini-image is only for the cd-verification process.
You will need to appeal to EA and see if they will send you another disc. If you still have your receipt and the UPC, it may be possible.
or get a friend to "help" you.

Or simply download the DVD (or cd images) image from kazaa or some other p2p network. It's actually legal because you do have rights to it since you are a lawful owner of BF2.
Or like someone else said, you could beg EA for one but i wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

It is perfectly legal to have a copy of a licensed software. Remember you are not paying $50 for a DVD itself, rather the license to use it. The MPAA and RIAA have put that "fear" in everyone's head. Corporations use copies of MS cd's all the time. They will create their own images and put on their pc's. If this were "illegal" then I think MS would be the first to go after themOriginally posted by Wargimp

When you buy a game you are really only paying for the CD key. The discs (polycarbonate) are worth nothing. The software can be downloaded. If you own the game and have a legit key i don't see why you can't download another copy and use your key.

It is perfectly legal to download an item if you already own the product or have permission to use it.Originally posted by WargimpA much easier solution is to go pick up a little scratch cleaning kit. Unless you've really gouged the surface deep, you should be able to repair it.

Have you actually tried to contact the EA support where you are? Depending on where you are, it might be as simple as a photo\scan of the discs, and manual\box etc etc send to them, maybe pay postage, and they send you back new discs.
Just make sure you stick to the mini-image next time.
