What I hate is when on the rare occasion when I go assault, and on the rarer occasion when I actually use the grenade launcher, I immediately have to read some idiot screaming "OMFG N00b t00ber!"


That being said I don't think it's all that great of a weapon. If anything, I'm surprised that more people don't bitch about getting killed by AT. It's the only weapon in the game that can 1 shot 1 kill regardless of where you shoot them, and from what distance you shoot them from.

I don't use the toob much, just because I like having a fairly low score with the thing in my stats. It speaks volumes about the way I play.

When I do pull it out, it's usually for some fun long range supression fire. I've made some monster wicked ninja shots with dem 'nade launchers.

if only I could line up all the people that complain about people using a weapon in the game, stand on their throat and put the 203 in their mouth before firing it.

It's not an exploit, it's a weapon. If you don't feel it's an honorable way to use it then set up your own server and kick people who don't feel the same way.

since when does a grenade louncher shoot 50cm away from the guy who shot it and not do any harm to that guy?????

if used the propper way i dont really care about the grenade louncher and i admit the ppl that use it at long range are quite skilled, and i even think that the grenade louncher should be more powerfull like the one in BF:V.

but if ppl use it at short range.... than its just cheating using an exploit/bug from the game

I rarely get blown up by it.. but it does get irritating on those occasions when it might happen 2wice in a row...

The nade launcher is pretty easy to use... but I like the m16... i'ts just a sweet ass rifle.... the nade launcher is just an added bonus if you are defending a choke point for some easy kills.

I had the same expirience, i got sick of it happening to me so I tried to counter it. Yep, its a sure fireway to kill someone. Sort of like a knife except 3 m away. Instant kill. Now i can see why most statpadders play kharkand, use armour as their main vehicle of choice, assault gun as thier most played weapons and ect..

If I had done this from the beggining i would be soaring up the leader boards but frankly, im not that sortof a player. I don't play to get points, even though I dont mind get a few points at times, lets face it, its fun when you win but mainly i prefer to play as role eg. support. Anyway, this tactic will earn you points no matter how sad it is.

N00b tube at close range on one target=Lame, skilless player

N00b tube on multiple targets=quick thinking

Noob tube on far away target and get a kill=Skill

It all depends how and when you use it. I detest people bunny hopping around and using it at close range...with a passion.

it would be better ti change it. seeing as M203's will not explode like a meter infront of youin real life and games like americas army. ea should change the m203 to do the same as AA. but the new f2000 is an even better n00b tube than the m203

Noob toobing is a simple process that requires very little skill to 'perfect.'

It is an unfairly gained advantagedge, caused by lack of foresight on the bf2 devs part. Actually, they probably wanted a bunch of bunny hopping idiots because that would steal more people from the CS crowd, and they haven't fixed it yet.

I prefer the actual rifles to the tubes, though I will use the GL on occasion - when I have to hit someone behind cover, against light transport vehicles, or to hit a moving target from a distance (the splash helps make up for the difficulty in hitting a sprinting target, especially with BF2's hit detection).

I 203/gp average kill distance is probably something like 20 meters which in my book is the way it was supposed to be used. Also, clearing flags from far away is also fun to do:) .

Getting owned from 5 meter by a 40mm always suck though

If I use up my entire rifle mag hosing down two or three guys that rush me, then use the M203 on another guy that follows up coz I don't have time to reload, that's a valid tactic isn't it? Or am I supposed to stand there and let them get me out of some warped ideal of honourable play?

Or if I've used all my rifle ammo and only have the M203 left with no chance of resupply.

Or if I'm defending a flag and see an enemy player about thirty metres away, I use the M203 to get him rather than get into a firefight and therefore have plenty of time and ammo spare to go ahead and clear the flag area.

The M203 is a valid weapon to use in many situations, fair enough it's got some bugs that need sorting. The bunny-hopping n00b-t00ber isn't an M203 problem, it's a bunny-hopping problem.

The 203/GP isn't the "noobtube". It's use as a CQB weapon is. People that fair it at pointblank are noobtubers, people that fire it from a distance are using it as it is supposed to be used.

My favourites are the ones who like to jump just before they fire this weapon ... to counter I simply go into a dolphin dive, then shoot them when I land. Most of them are trying to reload the grenade launcher at that point.

When I toob, I'm usually firing at a guy beside a wall / crate, or at a group of enemies. Also I like to use this on oncoming jeeps or hovering / low-flying choppers. Most people don't even think that this weapon can take down an attack chopper.
