Guys, CoD2 is years ahead of BF2. Cod has been out for maybe 1 month and there are ALREADY servers with, cookable nades, sprinting, and blood mod. all downloadable right through the game in almost no time at all.The server menu works and it is very quick and responsive and so is the entire game. CoD2 is in its infant stages right now and to be honest i could wait a little longer for a patch but some people are getting riled up cause they want it so bad.

For me, homogeniety has always been too stiff a price to pay for some e-ranks, e-medals and especially the unpleasant style of gameplay that results from "stat-whores".

Headinjury makes a very good point here. Many in BF2 have forgotten what online gaming was about previously. The ranking system has forced homogenity upon players to the extent that the thought of even slight differences betweens servers has become unthinkable to many.

The norm for pretty much every other game is to allow server admins to run the game anyway they want. As such, many modifications are quickly developed and the game takes on a more dynamic quality. This has definately been the case for the entire CoD series and will be sure to continue with CoD2.

It does seem strange that it was released without cheat protection though but I think activision is a great producer and will be sure to correct that in future patches. They did so with the original CoD so I am not willing to write them off yet. Only from the quality of their patches will I be able to tell if they've gone downhill.

Realisticly, a 24 hour black out by a smattering of server admins isn't going to do much at all. However, making it news has impact.

For example: I'm not going to by CoD2 after reading this.

Exactly. Its off my list. And forgotten.

Besides....... EnemyTerritory.com quake wars will be out soon.

And that will be a refreshing change, while still playing the same type of game, BF2.....yeahhh haw. :)

Ummm, i really got sick of BF2 because of the massive loading times. Im acutally discouraged to play it in anticipation of the wait. I have turned to CoD because it loads fast and never laggs.

I thought so too after what happened with Cod1. But I hear they are making their own anti-cheat program or something like that. The cheats are out there and people are frustrated even though the game only has been out for alittle while.

I just hope something is out in the near future because the game is hella fun :)

To be honest I bought CoD2 for the SP game, so I got what I payed for...

Sure I was disappointed that the MP was no different to the orginal CoD and did not even include the larger maps of CoD:UO, but that is why I play BF2...

It's too bad the BF2 community didn't TOTTALY band together and boycott the expansion to protest the crap load that is BF2 and its lies... but at least a good number of people have. I wonder why the CoD2 community is different than the BF2 community...
