I used to play Halo PC and left that game and came here because of the cheaters. This game is not cheat free but its better than an uncontrolled game like Halo was. I know they already have our money and they probably have spent it too. If they, The game developers, want to get any more money they should get wise and give the honest players what they want, an honest game, where its my skill against your skill. Besides the dishonest players probably didnt buy the game anyway so getting rid of them isnt gonna be any great loss.

EA should take note of this and remember where they make the most money isnt from thier customers, but from thier repeat customers. The way I feel right now about the only thing Id like to buy from EA Is some kinda fix for all the bad programing and or other problems thier games have. I find this sad because even with the problems this is one of the best games out there and it could be better with a little work. But thats just my opinion...Red

No integrated cheat protection is so 2002.

Why don't more CoD2 servers make Punkbuster a requirement for their OWN server? Back when the original Counterstrike was starting to become plagued with cheaters, alot of the server admins started making Punkbuster a requirement to play on their server.

the biggest thing i get from this post aside from the usual, or obvious...
is that it seems to me that community is light years above and beyond, the community of that of which is BF2.....or BF in general, which is close to 4 years old.
Tighten up BF Community. We in fact do, hold powers, despite what some might tell you.
Its our money. Its our servers, its our forums, its our play time. It is in fact, all about, "US". and not EA or any other company for any other product. Bar None.
The power is right underneath our noses. Use it.

They aren't looking for it to be implemented, they want a statement from the company promising to give them the functionality they want in the game.

what do you mean? whats the differance between no anti cheat and one
thats 6 months outdated ? nothing.

if you havent heard theres a hack named MSX thats quite popular on
the servers YOU play on.. yep thats right..

According to the website distributing it, it had more than 800 downloads..

after reviewing screenshots and readmes of it, its so discreetly used that
YOU WOULD NEVER KNOW.

800 downloads..thats a lot..

as far as COD2 goes.. the grapgics on COD2 make BF2 look like pong,
but the gameplay gets old after a while, and getting dead after 1 shot
over and over sucks.

Not having Anti-cheat in a computer game is absolutley insane. Gamers will exploit any opportunity given to them even with the risk of being banned with anti-cheat measures implemented.

It can't require that much effort or negotiation on the part of either the developer/publisher or punkbuster.

I hope they implement anti-cheat soon.

I'm glad someone is taking a stand but I gotta admit that I don't think a few server owners locking people out will hurt the devs feelings.

After all if they still get the cash they win.

yes, i agree with these people trying to fight "the man". i am disapointed with the cod2 gameplay. the sprint is gone, cookable nades are gone, even the freeking health bar is gone!!! the ranking system is gone, along with the rewards for every 10 kills you get, and yes, the oneshotkill is really annoying. after you play cod2 for a while, you will know what you took for granted in bf2

What will this do? Why will the devs/publishers care if MP servers are down for a day, or even a week? They have your money, they don't get money from you by you playing MP...so yeah. They'll just ignore this, surely?

Realisticly, a 24 hour black out by a smattering of server admins isn't going to do much at all. However, making it news has impact.

For example: I'm not going to by CoD2 after reading this.

Guys, CoD2 is years ahead of BF2. Cod has been out for maybe 1 month and there are ALREADY servers with, cookable nades, sprinting, and blood mod. all downloadable right through the game in almost no time at all.The server menu works and it is very quick and responsive and so is the entire game. CoD2 is in its infant stages right now and to be honest i could wait a little longer for a patch but some people are getting riled up cause they want it so bad.
