B6x. I agree somewhat. The only way to continually create unique experiences with BF2 is play with folks you know or have played with before. That's what makes BF2 fun for me. I never click that little "2" icon without making sure my buddies are playing.

Ah right - didn't realise the new SF pack transferred over to regular BF2. In fact, I don't think I played SF long enough to find many differences.

I personally thought SF was a load of toss.

What's been transferred across? Anything half useful?

The G36E, MP7, SCAR-L, MG36, and F2000 with flashbangs. If you're asking me, the only guns I find enjoyable are the F2000 (what the G3 shoulda been on single shot), G36E (which is awesome), and SCAR-L (which is mediocre but novel).

I agree that SF is a load of DICE Canada-sourced poo. However, I still like Canadians, even though most of them (and all Swedes, for some reason) don't like me.

Agreed, that certainly helps, I think it's a case of finding a group of users that you trust, you know will have a fair fight and give everyone a fair crack at doing what they want. (i.e not shoot you for getting near a helicopter, or hang around the helipad waiting whilst everyone else is out getting pasted).
If people did different things and used different vehicles, it wouldn't get as stale as it would sound.

Blimey, thats good weapon knowledge! Which ones are those in average user terms? The F2000 is meant to be good. What's that and how do I get it?

On that note, can someone explain best way to find a friendly server / clan. Am I right in thinking all servers don't necessarily appear in multi-player list.
PS. I use the default gamespy, is there fun to be found elsewhere?

I am still playing quite happily, then agian i don't look through the server list to find servers, i have the good ones on my favourites.
Just wait for the mods they will be far better than BF2 and free and won't stuff all the ****ty weapons from a ****ty expainsion in them.

Haha, no I didn't buy it - I never will. But there are some well-known ways for non-SF owners to use SF weaponry in regular BF2.

And you can bet your bottom dollar that I'd jump at any chance to ice SF owners with their own hardware.

ok, it may just be me losing interest, but does anyone else think the shine has gone from BF2? Seems to me that it's getting increasingly difficult to find a decent server with decent, fair players. That is, players that don't shoot you heading for the helicopter because they are waiting for their mate to get in. Or players that don't call you a "noob" because they fly directly into you in their jets at 400 mph.... and don't even get me started on the jets that just rape your base and kill you within 2 seconds of spawning.

I tend to try and avoid servers now where people have the same "tags" at the beginning of their names as you know it's going to be a nightmare. No chance of getting near a helicopter, and if you do, you'll just sit on the helipad with the pilot shouting "bail out" etc until you get shot and killed.

Now, I know these guys tend to be the ones paying for the server, which is fair enough that they play together, I understand that, but if they want healthy competition they are not making it easier for themselves.

...and why can't people be encouraged to use other vehicles within the game, rather than just hog the helicopters or jets?

Maybe it's time EA introduced a server selection system based on your Global Points (where average players like me can play with other average players and have a damn good battle). And get shot of the AutoBalance crap that moves you over to the losing server 30 seconds before the end of the game.

3 months ago, this game was the only one installed on the PC, and was played whenever I had a spare hour. now I can hardly be bothered to boot the PC up for it.
Special Forces has only really made it worse... it's slowed down performance to almost unbearable and after a while the whole "night time" atmosphere gets boring.

Such a shame.

All they care about is their fake badges, awards, and medals. Probably the
type that doodles little BF2 pictures in their high school biology classes. lmao.

If EA had half a fVckin brain, and fixed the voting system we could do away
with a lot of problem kiddies who TK for their choppers and jets..

Chopper and Jet whoring is a major problem in BF2 also.. I like hearing all
you little kiddies defend how you use them, but if you look at their scores
at the end of the games, most of the time they have little or ZERO.

Add the above to the unfinished game, with more bugs than an ant farm
and you got one big piece of **** game.

I took it back for a refund after 2 months..The guy behind the counter
said he couldnt stand playing it either..

There are much better games out there.. MUCH

Shine = Gone, at least for me.

I can play BF2 for maybe 2 hours a day for a couple days b4 getting sick of it, where as I can play FH for 6 hours a day (if i had the time) for about 3 weeks w/o needing a couple day break. Not kidding

Actually Fig, I had the same with DC for BF1942. If I sat down to play some DC, I wasn't getting up for hours.. and hours... and hours.

BF2 .. meh. I can play for 1 hour and I get bored. BF2 is one of those games... the graphics are great, but the gameplay sucks.

I've been playing fallout 2 :)

but, i bought that special forces expansion and that's pumped abit more life into the old beast for me, everytime i seem to join a server for the ex pack the squads have worked really well and i seem to see less stuipidness in it, it may just be luck of the draw who knows but i havent had a bad moment yet on it, which was supprising considering just how idiotic bf2 became
