Karkand is complete tripe half the time because everyone just acts like lemmings and goes for that first flag over and over (and over) again, christ knows why alot of people do rush for the first flag you might as well just jump in a great big mincer and be done with it

there was an SF map i played yesterday but dont know what it as called but it was quite large and actually looked like a town in baghdad (might be ghost town not sure) it was bloody brilliant!
thats what a CQB map should be like!!

karkand is for all those point farming bastards who just rape the first spawn in APC's instead of taking it over. The new SF maps provide a much more realistic/fun approach to playing an actual city map. such as warlord, and ghost town.... with less of a chance of getting base raped because you spawn in an increasingly widened area than in BF2. *such as the parachute drop for the SAS in warlord*

Warlord, Night Flight, and Devil's Perch all pretty much own any BF2 map.

Some you you may be sick of it or don't like the way some people play the map, but from a design standpoint Karkand is superior to all others. It is second to none.

Once I get the vid card upgraded and give SF a real try I think several of those maps have potential to give Karkand and Sharqi a run for their money.

Its definately right up an infantry persons alley. Ghost Town, Mass Destruction, Warlord, and even Night Flight have great potential....

Warlord and Ghost Town rock 20x harder than Karkand and Mashtuur
I have over 50 hours on Karkand
and over 30 on Mashtuur so I can speak with some authority on this.
Warlord is 100% the best map in the game, hands down.
For some reason my Stats are not showing up correctly at Gameslave.co.uk, but I know I have more than 39 minutes on this map. I played a 500 pointer with 28 guys the other night, it lasted well over 2 hours.

as an infantry man, I really like the SF maps for infantry combat, except the Arty it really spoils the atmosphere, in real life special forces dont need arty, there too good for it:p but mashtuur city is pretty good aswell, not too sure about Karkand i like it but its not better than SF maps in term of infantry combat but its close though

In real life Spec Ops do not need Artillery, they are too good for it?
Ask any real operator how he feels about Arty (SAS, DEVGRU, DELTA((CAG)))
and he will tell you that he has all kinds of preplotted Arty on call. Arty is the Spec Ops Operators only lifeline sometimes. He can create diversions with it, use it as a shield or most importantly call in ultra precise arty as a forward observer (Hell the Marine Corps has a unit in every Division called "ANGLICO" Artillery and Naval Gun Liason Company. They Parachute in behind enemy lines and call in precision Arty. Sounds like Special forces to me. Are you sure you are an Infantryman? I was for 6 years and I always understood the importance of Arty. I was a mortarman so I may just be a little biased. :p

there was a similar thread about this and it comes to what you prefer, some like maps with planes an helis i personally love karkand for its infantry comabt and great teamwork. Allthough recently ive noticed loads of people just using the grenade launcher an bunny hopping around the map, really ruins the experience!

Not played sf yet however!

get some damn skillz will ya... I see why you play BF2, had you played
most other games youd get owned in .5 secs.

Then again, BF2 is the home of pre puberty players.
