The game was released months ago and still they haven't released a single balance patch. One patch was supposed to fix the underpowered AA but the truth is that it still is just as crappy. BF42 had much better patches and back then the devs did care about the players and did all kinds of changes like made the airplanes softer and added new weapons. The clan community of BF2 will surely move on eventually because games with zero support are bad games.

No surprise. The MODS will eventually take over and carry BF2 till BF3 comes out.

They did a balance fix when they altered how you capture flags with vehicles.

which i think should of only effected blackhawks its stupid your gunner has to get out of the tanks and passengers have to get out of APCS. tanks and apcs are easy to blow up. blehOriginally posted by JarEmeThey did a balance fix when they altered how you capture flags with vehicles.

Yeah indeed, so it makes sense to dismount and spread out, to CLEAR a flag before moving on. You arent helping if you dont take the hiding enemies out, and just skip along flags as fast as possible.Originally posted by alkajazztanks and apcs are easy to blow up. bleh

Re: Looks like EA/Dice have abandoned Battlefield 2
Its what EA do, they make a buggy game, maybe write 1 patch when people are still buying it.
When they made their money, they stop caring for their old game and make a new one / expansion so people will buy the new one, if before they made enough money something goes wrong, they will write a patch, after they made enough they will just abandon it like every other game it ever made and move on.
Its how EA do things, I have several EA games thats completely abandoned, one of them even the offical website was shut down.

Agreed...
and the server browser is still a piece of broken crap.
I like how they made it refresh the list automatically when you went to
multiplayer and they acted like that was a fix.. lmfao.
The whole game has so many issues, too many to list..
EA makes bad quality products.. but of course, youre not going to get
any support here with that tone. This is where all the jet and chopper
kiddies hang out, and where they show each other their new fake
badges, awards, and medals.. lmfao.
EA abandonded this game the 1st day it was released, not any time
lately..

Re: Looks like EA/Dice have abandoned Battlefield 2
As teh_pwnerer put it "EA is liek teh gay"
After watching some PP and hearing that quote, then researching it to find his reasons behind it were indeed true. I had my fears about buying bf2.
However, I knew that what I played in the demo is what I was gonna get. I had fun playing the demo, I had fun playing the game. Of course there are things in the game I don't like, however, when it comes down to it. I'm sure there are things I like in the game that others hate. Yes it's a buggy game, yes EA support for their products leaves a lot to be desired, no it's not the end of the world.
I'f you're playing more than 2 hours a day, you need either a job or a life anyway.

Re: Looks like EA/Dice have abandoned Battlefield 2
It is funny how so many people think they should tell others how to live their lives. If someone wants to play 8 hrs a day let them, it really is none of your fking business is it and why would you even care. I play about an average of 2 hrs a day and I have a fulltime job as an engineer and I am working on another university degree thank you very much.Originally posted by JuzzyDeeAs teh_pwnerer put it "EA is liek teh gay"

Gotta toss in my 2 cents.Originally posted by BossmanThe game was released months ago and still they haven't released a single balance patch. Jeez dude... in a hurry, eh?
They tried to rush in a blance patch and we got 1.03.
It DID adress balance issues. It made you need to exit a vehicle in order to assisit in a cap, thus addressing the rampent HB issue. They also attempted to adress AA missile issues. They failed and made things arguably worse. but the attempt was there.
I'd rather see them take some time with the next patch. Do some good Q&A (which takes time!!) and make sure it's tested, solid, AND has good tweeks. Give us something we'll like.
I'm sure people would complain anyway.

Re: Looks like EA/Dice have abandoned Battlefield 2
There you go, and do you get time for more than 2 hours a day? I don't really care how people live, you're right. It is funny how so many people think they should tell others how to live their lives. If someone wants to play 8 hrs a day let them, it really is none of your fking business is it and why would you even care. I play about an average of 2 hrs a day and I have a fulltime job as an engineer and I am working on another university degree thank you very much.
However, If you've got time to play 8 hours a day, it's unhealthy. You're not allowing time for excercise, work, family, social life. Those normal healthy things that people do. So really I'm trying to be nice looking out for people :p
But in all honesty, I find if things aren't going my way, and I'm getting pwn3d by what could be percieved as balance issues, I walk away, I goto the gym, or watch some TV, or just do some plain old browsing. By the time I come back, I normally either have one of two things happen. I start getting smashed again, or I play mediocre and have fun. Either way, it's meant to be about enjoying it right? Just cause you've spent $50 on the game, doesn't mean you HAVE to play it is what I'm trying to say. Cut your losses and move onto the next game.

Re: Looks like EA/Dice have abandoned Battlefield 2
The game hasn’t even been out 6 months and they have already released a bunch of patches and even some new content...Patience is a virtue
They haven’t abandoned the game either...I’m sure we will see more patches and more maps in the future...
