To all those people who get tons of lag, turn down almost all of your settings to low, and some medium. Sacrifice quality for major performance gain. I know if you have a 2000 dollar system you will be reluctant to do so, but i did it and it is very smooth. SF is buggy and gives low framerates, and this is the best way to counter it.

this is obvious.
what everyone is looking for is a way NOT to have to do this.
we are all aware this fixes the problem.

SuperTyphoon: We shouldn't have to use work arounds to make the game playable. It's not f-ing acceptable to release the game in such a bad way.

Re: Making SF less laggy
We shouldn't, but DICE doesn't know that and doesnt' care. I don't care about anyone, but it benefits alot. Until we can find something to not have to do this, i am keeping mine the way it is.

Re: Making SF less laggy
My SF runs smooth and I have everything on high with x4AA at 1023x768 and my system is a lot less then most.
my system
Amd 3000+barton
2gigs 3200 DDR duel channel ram
Galaxy Glacier 6800GT 256
2x80 gig Sata Hdd
8x8DVDrw
450 watt enermax PSU
I had some choppyness in BF2 on Darqin Oilfields, but I increased my Apeture size in bios from 128 to 256 and that went away and both BF2 and SF run smooth.

Re: Making SF less laggy
it kinda bugs me that dice gave my system the default level of high. I need to turn it to very medium to make the game playable. Did they even test the game?

Thanks for the insite. Shame it won't work for us. :)Originally posted by phen0mUpdate your GPU drivers ****tard, this has been posted in like 100000 other threads. nub.
Alas it's not really DICE's fault. Remember EA now own a large proportion of the shares? They no doubt have nearly all the team working hard on BF3 (Cha-ching! You KNOW you'll buy it.) leaving one or two programmers to work on patches. :/Originally posted by SuperTyphoonWe shouldn't, but DICE doesn't know that and doesnt' care. How come you have your vid gpu clockspeed set to 370mhz? My 6600GT is set to 579/1006. Works great. Surely your 6800GT supports higher frequencies?

6600GT has a hight clock, but that doesnt mean a whole lot now a days when it comes to videocards.Originally posted by ColonelPanic"BFG GeForce 6800 GT @ 370/1000"

the 6800GT has more Pipelines and Shaders, which is what it comes down to now a days.

Re: Making SF less laggy
Ah, ya. Maybe so. But when I overclock my card I get about 20 fps more. Surely doing the same to a 6800GT will improve performance as well. And you say "nowadays" like 6 months ago was oh so long. Fact remains...he seemingly has a better system than me and yet my game seem to runs better.Originally posted by PimpYo6600GT has a hight clock, but that doesnt mean a whole lot now a days when it comes to videocards.
