    Re: The Best Anti-Air

I remember playing support class and hiding the Tunguska on the Marshland map just near the centre hill. It was great as I effectively neutralised the enemy air assets especially the choppers. From where I was sitting I could lock the spawned chopper on the centre hill as soon as someone got inside.

I really hate it when people just drive off with the thing attempting to take out a tank. I have never seen a tank lose to a tunguska or the bradley so why bother? If you use it as it was meant to be used you could halt the air power quite easily.

That isn't true, it will work to an extent, the problem you will have is they will know exactly which one of the AA sites is aimming at them so they will just come back round and blow the hell out of it, free kills for me.

im going to try and flashbang enemy pilots by tossing them up on roofs and hoping for the best.. that should be sooo good.

It mite work against more inexperienced pilots, but the ones with more experience, tend to ignore the buzzer until it becomes a lock. Me, I tend to turn around and go right at it with the maingun with the hopes that I can scoop an easy kill or two.

Your best bet, get in it after they fly over head and they are moving in a direction away from you, then when you get the lock, fire and leave the turret while it reloads. This way, if he comes back, your not a sitting duck. You'll need his flight path to be within about 30 degrees of your tube when launching, or you will definitely miss and probably be rewarded with team vehicle damage.

Alot of pilots, including me sometimes, dont even worry about the "clear tone" of a full lock. I normally start to worry when ive had the lock for about 2-3 seconds, but all i do is fly with the rear view on and when the missiles get close drop flares (if they had been reloading). Then just do a quick turn back and spray away... lol.. i know its cheap, but untill EA fixes the AA, well i need the kills. So the best advice is, yes.. shoot the 2 AA missiles and then leave the area quickly!

Or get a mobile AA be the support kit) and just move every now and then.

I don't wait for 2-3 seconds. If it is someone like me behind me, and I always pretend to be in that situation to keep someone from catching me with my pants down, I'm so far up the other jets ass that when I fire missiles off, it hits almost as soon as it leaves the rail lol.

I'm sure you have your own ways of flying, and that is good, because it is better to have your own styles of flying than to try and emulate someone else

Very true, otherwise people will always kill you as they know what you are going to do.

                      Best Anti-Air:

Good\Decent Pilots in your Teams jet's, and Noob pilots in the others.

This held true today, had me and another experienced clan player in our jets, and random pub noobs in theres, about half way through each of the 3 rounds on zatar, they did'nt even bother getting in the jets, because they got shot down within mins by us 2. We won all 3 rounds.

The pilot gets an annoying bleeping noise, and has no idea(unless he/she sees you) where the threat is coming from. Best choice of action for the pilot? Get the hell out. It works wonderfully on wake, and since most helicopter/jet pilots hate getting shot down, you have nothing to fear from the air. It really a treat to watch the jets squirm and dodge the invisible threat.
everytime i m locked, i do a tight turn and look behind, if i dont see jets chasing me. then i'll know it's an AA. when i turn back, u better stay away from that stinger.

It would seem that having Stinger (Or Equivelent) Heat Seaking Missile armed ground troops. . . maybe having a couple of stingers and and MP5 would be a good way to keep the fighter pilots on their toes. . . no indication on radar at all. . . until a stinger is locking and inbound. Not limited to a specific site, able to take cover easily. . . sigh. . . dunno why they didnt implement that better.

I usually don't fly, but when I do, the only reason I go away from AA sites is because the sound is gaddamn annoying.

Mobile AA is heaps better than the Stinger/IGLA for three main reasons:
                              - The enemy don't immediately know where you are and once they do know where you are you can move.
                              - You have cannons to shoot the enemy with once all your missiles have missed or hit friendly aircraft.
                              - You have quite good protection from ground based threats while you are concentrating on taking down planes or choppers.
