No. Save the 200$ for upgrading something else in the system. Or put it to a future generation graphics card.

      there's a difference, but it's not worth 200 bucks.

yea, save your money. Games haven't caught up to that yet...I mean unless you want to have your game seem like...virtual reality or something :p

theres a very large difference, the momory is infeon chips which can reach super high clock rates (thus the 850mhz mem clock (x2) thats on the eVGA version anyway)

Whether or not the extra 10-15frames are worth 200bucks, thats do be debated.

If with a 256m version your pulling over 70fps all the time, then its a waste to spend on the 512 version.

Id get the 256 version and spend the 200 left over elsewhere

the reason its not worth it is because no games are programmed to utilize 512mb or video ram.

when ATI first made the X800XL 512mb, it got the EXACT same FPS as the 256 version, because no games are designed to use anytyhing above 256.

Hahahahahaha... You thing you'vr got problems, ivve got a 9550...

But back onto topic, no, its not worth the $200, if you really want the 512MB one, then wait for 2 months or so and it will havce come down in price alot, especially aftyer crissy.

Not true, QUAKE 4 can use 512MB if set to ultra high settings. It then uses uncompress bitmaps (Or something like that I forgot)

QUAKE 4 isnt even worth the $50 to play it let alone a 7800GTX 512MB
