I myself have a Dell 2005FPW which has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 and i was wondering whether you currently run bf2 at this resolution. Whenever i enter +szx 1680 +sxy 1050 it goes black for a minute then goes back to the desktop, which im running at 1680 x 1050. What resolution do you run at? Thank you.

I just ordered a Dell 2005FPW (today in fact). Can you run BF2 at 1600x1280 comfortably? BTW, what kind of video card do you have (in reference to your original question). THank you.

It's 12ms but averages 16ms on most independent tests - not the best but I'm using it for mostly work related stuff - I run BF2 on my old Sony/SUN CRT.


I just ordered the 2405FPW myself - I cancelled the order for a Viewsonic vp2030b.

yeah and the refresh rate is 60hz at 1600x1200. It performs very well with my video card which is a nVidia 6800. Without a doubt one of the best monitors out right now. Its an excellent choice, and i haven't tried running it at 1600x1200, although i have ran it at 1600x900 and it didvery well.

Hi, first post here!

I have the 2005FPW monitor running on a GeForce 7800 GT OC card. My problem is... when I go to the Video options in BF2 and set the resolution, the max resolution I can select is 1280 x 1024. I've tried editing the Video.con files by deleting the resolution setting (as mentioned in this thread), but that didn't seem to help. I still wasn't able to select a resolution higher than 1280 x 1024 in the Video options.

Is there something else I'm missing? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Nice monitor - the 2005FPW 20" widescreen and very good refresh rate. :) Almost got one myself.

For LCDs, refresh rates mean NOTHING. Technically speaking, any refresh rate over 60Hz CAN damage your LCD. Don't do it.

All you need to enter is this:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +widescreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

The +widescreen doesn't mean anything, but it doesn't hurt either.

hmm, im using a DVI plugin instead of a VGA. Would your response time, ghosting, or anything be different than mine? For some reason i cannot put bf2 at 1680 x 1050 but i can put it at 1600 x 900, why? Also the dell2005fpw is closer to a 16:10 ratio than it is 16:9 correct (lol just did it in my head) IT iS a 16:10!!!! Why the crap can i not play hl2 at 16:10 and force it into 16:9!>!>!>!!

i have same monitor and can only change settings from video section while the game is running. i can't chnage resolution or graphics from anywhere but inside the game. which sucks because ingame doesn't allow for 1680 by 1050 resolution much less the graphic option my 7800gtx allows for (8xs aa and supersampling, etc.)
