  • Those of you with a Dell 2005FPW

I myself have a Dell 2005FPW which has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 and i was wondering whether you currently run bf2 at this resolution. Whenever i enter +szx 1680 +sxy 1050 it goes black for a minute then goes back to the desktop, which im running at 1680 x 1050. What resolution do you run at? Thank you.

Haha if anything from Dell is good, it would be their monitors.

Im pretty sure the maximum Resolution BF2 uses is 1280x1024, though Im not sure if BF2 simply detects my monitor and shows me MY maximum and not the games which would mean what I said before was wrong.

Re: Those of you with a Dell 2005FPW

ive got a dell tft 2405fpw.it has a native resolution of 1920x1200 60hz and i had the same problem my old moniter was running at 1280x1024 85hz that was my problem and is yours i think. find out the max hz your moniter supports mines 60hz you have to delete your old moniter settings go here C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles open your profile and then open the file that says video and you will see a screen like this
                      VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 2
VideoSettings.setResolution 1280x1024@60Hz this is my new res not old 1
                      VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
                      VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
                      VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3
just delete the res setting and start the game then when at main menu set your res hz etc ie this is how it should look when you delete the res i should point out that if you have more than 1 profile which im 99.9% sure most of us do you will have to do the same for every profile,
                      VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 2
                      VideoSettings.setResolution
                      VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
                      VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
                      VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3
i hope this helps you happy gaming .

Nice monitor - the 2005FPW 20" widescreen and very good refresh rate. Almost got one myself.

Thats the only thing I can say good about Dell, they have nice monitors and their TVs are nice as well.

On the other hand you could have gotten the new Gateway 21" LCD Widescreen, very nice monitor w/HD support.
