Just my two cents here but,

Seems to me that this thing has been around so long because it is a intermitent problem. As in it rarely comes up and when it does it has no set situation. Most problems that get fixed are pretty straight forward troubleshooting wise, like when someone is using X setup this happens, or when x option is enabled this happens.

In short, I think it's being worked on but is a troubleshooting nightmare because it's just so damn random. Not that we should just accept it or anything. But it's not like they are going to publicly admit that it exist without a planned solution at least in the works. A red skeleton in the closet so to speak.

I agree, they did mention that a long time ago that they wanted to know what the situation was when it happened.

The problem is during a battle when a teammate kills you, the last thing you think about is do I have a red name tag, and even if they say you have a red tag, you probably don't understand why it is that way. And only some people see the red name. If everyone on your team saw you as red, it might be easier.

I guess they have troubles duplicating the problem.

The thing I hate most about this bug is the effect is has on teamplay. Example. The bug affects someone on your team, who appears out of nowhere (is in a squad, spawns on the squad leader), with a red name above his head. You fire, then see the autobitch like 'stop firing!', so you pause..meanwhile the guy gets mad for you shooting at him, so he shoots you..so you're like hell if he's shooting me he must really be an enemy. That makes you finish him off. Next thing you see is getting punished for a TK and you can't understand what just happened.

The bug is a nasty little thing, and I honestly don't know if Dice even understands what's causing it. 4 patches since BF2 was released and they can't figure it out. Actually more patches if you consider the memory leaker patch mistake.

              Atrocious

Aside from the massive team-stacking, notice how it lists 11 MEC players, yet only 4 names show up on the roster. That means almost 2/3 of the enemy team was bluetag bugged. That was a fun round, almost like I was wallhacking. I could understand a few, but come on, 2/3 the team with the glitch? After 4 patches?

Tell me about it. I got nailed on one fo those last night. Some maps the uni's are too similar to tell apart at a glance, and I try to be nindful of my teammates, so when I get whacked by a guy with a blue tag and it isn't a teamkill, I fume.
