Wow good to know its a bug, bad to hear its so widespread.

Same bug as with original BF2, they still have not addressed it or even talked about fixing it.

it appears far worse now. i can't remember a time when it's happened to me in bf1942 and for that fact i can't remember a time when it's happened to me in bf2. but it happens quite frequently in bf2:sf. i can't think of a bf2:sf game that i have not played where it has not happened. i often catch it because i can tell by the uniforms, but by then i'm dead or i've accidentily killed a teammake.

This bug has been around since the release of the 2nd patch. It is truly frustrating running around getting teamkilled over and over.

Ya. It reminds me of the Half Life mod Team Fotress Classic, in which you could use the "spy" kit and wear the enemies uniform.

LOL! that's true, I almost forgot about that...The spy.....Maybe it is not a bug that the color shows that way....Maybe they forgot the uniform thing. You are a randomly chosen spy. Go, fight, win.

first time i ever saw a BLUE name bug today, i mean, sure red ones are common, but blue name bugs? god daYum

You may also want to be careful because sometimes when someone is climing a ladder you cant see their name, so if your stupid like me you tk them.

the name tag bug comes from a viariety of places, but usually its caused by lag.

For example, say my computer has a sudden small lag spike. Although i may not relize it, my ping shoots up to 120 for maybe 2 seconds and then quickly drops. My name tag Might shange colors.

That bug requires diffrent objects in the games coding to be out of place, but that is one of reasons why it does so.

I think that it is related to the auto switch process, and joining squads etc. And just to clarify, the red name bug has been around since the Demo,, they have known about it for that long and apparently have no clue how to fix it.
