I binded it to my Mouse5, I can activate it with mouse5 no problem on foot, but in a vehicle it does not work, however pressing 7 does.

Nightvision in choppers sucks
Everything's grey, and if you don't notice that it has to reload soon, you crash when everything goes black without warning
