Haha, I always play BF2 at 20-25 FPS, never had a problem blowing people away.

When you are forced to play on all low settings there are usually no complaints. I tried to overcome low settings yesterday on BF2 (i use a radeon 9600) and even putting terrain on medium made my gameplay get screwed after 30 minutes of battling.

I'm not having any performance issues. I'm getting an average of 55fps and the lowest was about 41fps with settings maxed out and 6AA.

I usually just play on medium settings and no AA just so it will load faster.

My system:
AMD A64 3200
1GB Corsair XMS
x850xt set to balanced settings in the ATI control panel.
120GB SATA HD 1 partition.
WinXP Pro

At work at present but i will try tweaking when i finish in the morning....have had a small session and all seemed fine but it was set on low res with all on medium settings.

Also, will post my system specs later.

What is this 'vanilla' bf2 all about ?

Vanilla = Standard (Like vanilla ice cream is standard/plain)

So Vanilla BF2 would mean the basic BF2 straight out the box, Where you now have another flavour which would be Special Forces.

I just got the 81.89 Drivers and WOW! I played 3 full games of 64 Player Warlord (where it would usually drop to 10 FPS before!) and NEVER dropped below 40+ FPS! It was totally smooth the whole time, kicked ass.

So, anyone having lag w/ nVidia, try the 81.89 drivers.

Hmm.. well i got

2.4ghz
9550 256mb (lastest drivers)
1gig RAM

And i have no probs what so ever.

I have almost these same specs, except I've got 2.6 GHz and 512MB RAM, and I also have no problems.

The last 24 hours SF has been running really laggy but it has had to do with my ping more. Been getting kicked from server for having bad ping, not sure if it is my video driver. It was running great at 60 fps on medium settings the first few days.

AIW 9800 Pro OC some
A7N8X-E Deleuxe AMD Sempron 1.8 OC to 2.4
1 gig 3200 Dualchannel
