Re: The HIND (what a hunk of Junk)

I really like the hind. :) It's slower and heavier than the other attack helis, so you can swoop down towards vehicles and infantry at a slower speed and without losing as much altitude, so I find it easier than the other helis to kill infantry with. It *is* much easier to kill, at the same time, especially for other choppers.

They should not have taken out the troop carrying part of the hind. Thats why the hind doesnt move fast because it can carry troops and open up a can of woop ass

Well, I find nothing wrong wuith the hind too, except maybe the distance between the missiles, but the rest, I really like it! A litle bit less than the apache, but still, the Hind can ''airskate'' reallly easily, once you master that, your invincible!

No, pilots are useless in this game. I'm a fairly good gunner and a decent pilot, and frequently I have to do both myself (jumping back and forth between the seats) because I can't find a pilot who either doesn't fly around between buildings like a maniac, or one that doesn't crash into a tree every 2 minutes.

Which maps I can find those helos?
Helo isn't rambo knife. you have to be good team player and temtalker to use it. But when all this works, nothing gonna take you down.

No, way Havoc is still the ultimate infantry killer. That cannon kills infantry in one hit, and or two with splash damage (which is pretty big btw). Not so good for TV missles though... they frequently go out of control (you watch it fly, but it keeps going straight no matter what). I don't think that happens with any other chopper. Also, they don't feel as maneuverable as other TV missles, but maybe that's just me?

As a pilot, I've gone 40+ and 0 a few times. If you're a gunner who's ready to use the TV missiles on a moment's notice, be my guest and get in my chopper, but if you're just going to spray the MG in random directions around a flag, when I see 3 guys just standing there, I'm going to go in and hit them. I'm generalizing here, and the fact is most gunners suck. You can't deny that, you may be good, but most gunners suck. Hell, most pilots suck too....hell most BF2 players suck. Now and days everyone sucks. It's very rare to find a nice person in the world these days. I'm not one of those pilots who thinks he's stealth because he flies low/between stuff, that's the worst thing a chopper can do, in the BF2 chopper world, altitude is everything. I stay high. If you expect me to hover for a few seconds to get you a good shot, you're crazy. I'm a gunner and I've had plenty of other gunners who do just fine with my flying style, some of my xfire friends can hit a TV missile while in a full strafe. They kill infantry with the gun while I'm on the move. Gunning is point and click, seeing is the hard part.

Well, theres no reason they did it, but in DC it was able to carry more then just two people if you remember.

That only works when you're on TS/Squad Radio with the gunner, or you've got the "enemy spotted" codes figured out. I'm not saying I'm the best gunner in the world - but I'm decent. I've chased down a few hotshots (who thought that flying slow was a GREAT idea) in F-35's with TV missles. Though most people who play BF2 are completely awful at _EVERY_ aspect of it, not to mention things that take some practice to get down.

                          YOU need to keep practicing.

YOU need to keep working on the aim.

YOU might want to get a little learning on the manuvers.

The best way to use the HIND is one of two ways:

                          Method one:

Attack a packed enemy base and pull away while reloading. This is the safe option. Your only worries is trees and enemy helis intent on shooting you down.

                          Method Two:

Fly into a base with enemies and induce a circle. Instead of fighting the tendency to slide to the side, work the stick until you actually are creating a circle sideways around the enemy with your nose pointing down.

Just rain death on them once you perfect the manuver.

I love some people and there nonsense comments "its russian what do you expect". Yeah because if its not built by us its gotta be junk. If you do your research you will realize that russians were right on par with all our equipment, jets and helicopters and superior in many ways. Just because they favored crew survivability over sleek looks doesnt mean its junk. Look it up, for being what everyone thinks to be a huge unmaneuverable helicopter, according to an american pilot who flew one, is actually a very fast and agile helicopter with the overall best veiwing windows and a body that made you feel safe.

When playing with on of my m8s using the HIND, we totaly dominated, I was Tv'ing and gunning everything and he would clean up what I missed(which was quite a lot :P ) with the missles. We've done the same thing with the apache but it never seems to work as well for some reason :/

Hinds are supposed to be really frickin cool, but DICE had to chop their balls of by not letting passengers in. In Desert Combat they were awesome, because you could clear an area of tanks, then paradrop troops in to take land and kick ass.

This really makes me want to re-install 1942 and DC, where Hinds can carry troops, and PKMs can actually hit.
