YES SIR!! I'll get behind some RPG-7 soldier ASAP

I think the risk of getting fried is very small since I wasn't exactly behind the thing when it launched...

I knew a letherneck (marine) who stood too close from a Rpg launch and almost lost his eye!!! True story! Real life experience. In BF2 I would imagine that would be death.

I've seen worse. There's this video of special forces soldiers letting a coalition soldier in Iraq test out a "recoilless" gun, and he flipped a lot like the ragdolls in BF2, but he lived.

                  Well, it's not always lethal.

A marine or national guard (I forget which) was with some friendly Afgan troops fighting a group of rebel insurgents. The friendly Afgan troop popped up and fired his RPG7 right as the US guy was behind him.

He ended up with some temporary hearing loss but was fine. It all varies from situation to situation.

                  Military Channel is fun :)

The movie Syx is talking about is on that site. I recommend registering at military.com just for the daily movies and pics they have from Iraq, Afghanistan and other regions.

...It's BF2 guys... think about this for 2 seconds... Lethal rpg gas expulsion would be a realistic and immersive feature... therefore it's unnecesary in EA's view...

I'm quite sure the RPG rocket is launched with some kind of gun powder, i.e. not some rockets flames coming out, and thus isnt exactly deadly per se but certainly would be a b1tch to get on ya...

If I remember my training correctly the RPG-7 uses the weaker booster motor to kick the 84mm round out the front of the launcher and then the main rocket motor kicks in. So it doesn't have the full backblast of the older US rocket launchers (e.g. 3.5" Bazooka) or the 75mm recoiless rifle shown in the film.

Why would we want this at all?

Now instead of worrying aboout the 60ton tank infront of you, you have to make sure no dumbass team member is behind you or you get a lovely TK then a lovely punishment for it.

I doubt its in Bf2 in any shape or form, it worked fine in DC and it should follow that example.

Might as well add shock waves from tanks firing, cos if you are within 20 feet of one that fires its main cannon, your deaf and probably picking yourself up off the deck.
