Who here bought the game from the EA Downloader?

Im wondering if any people who bought the game from the EA Downloader(via download) has installed and played SF without any problems.

I was on my way to buying it but then noticed an update saying people who dled it from the Downloader were having problems...


So has anyone bought it online, dled it, installed, and played with no problem what so ever?

I downloaded it and it works fine....only thing I needed to do was bypass my router to get the download to start.

bought this morning, downloaded this lunch, just finished playing an hour ago.

i'm just wondering what will happen if i reformat my hard drive. i mean, where can i get the EA downloader again to redownload my SF copy and will it let me, etc.?

sucks that my FPS dropped below 20...

I believe that what ever username and password you setup will log you in to download as many times as you need. It will be in the purchased section. The downside is that if you do reformat you will have to download all over again...ohwell it's better than not having the game. Instant gratification FTW!!!!

May as well put it onto a Cd just incase.

I also want to know has anyone from the UK downloaded it and if so can you play it straight away or is it saying you have to wait till friday?

how? where does it save to (which folder)?

after i bought it, it just went on to download and then install the game w/o asking me where to save it to first.

I downloaded it and it worked just fine. I had to disable Norton Internet Security to get it to start the download but that may have been a problem I created. Installed and worked just fine.

Yeah I got it from EAdownloader just for fun. It works just fine.

How long did it take to DL?

I have cable, it took about 35 mins to download and another 10 to install. Don't forget to patch the game after you download and install SF. I think the patch took 12 minutes from Gamespot server....the EA server was crawling at like 54KBS....go with someone elses server.

To whoever asked the UK question...

Ive downloaded it but we have to wait 24 more hours till release.

Wich is not a problem becuase by the time we install all the minor problems the yanks had with it will have fixes and solutions.

Question, I created a new account name at EA, will that effect my screenname on SF or does it remain the same as Bf

Doesn't affect anything in BF.

I used the Downloader...at first I was worried that it would be gay like Steam and I'd have to be logged in to even play. Nope, I can close the downloader and SF still works great. So far, so good.
