Uninstalling and re-installing certainly helped. But did not resolve the issue. Leviathan is by far the worst...and I ONLY notice the lag when I'm piloting the attack chopper. Otherwise, the game runs smoothly. Even when I'm experiencing this 'lag' while piloting, my FPS are usually about 30.

If I feel like waiting for the 're-optimization', I'll try rolling back my drivers a bit too. 81.95 and 81.94 both perform the same for me.

Anyways, I submitted a support ticket yesterday about the 15/66 bug and the stuttering that came with it...and they sent me this stupid response:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting EA technical support. I am sorry that you are having difficulty.

I apologise for the issues you are experiencing with the 1.12 patch. First you will need to ensure that you have downloaded the newest patch for Battlefield 2: Special Forces.

Once you have the file, verify that you have downloaded the file completely, it should be around 280MB.

If you have patched you will want to make sure that you are running the correct version. The version number is located in the lower left corner of the login screen. This should currently read 1.1.2554.356.0.

If you can not install the patch or your version is incorrect and you have installed the latest patch there may be a corruption in the game files. Please uninstall Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2: Special Forces. If you have any issues uninstalling please follow the steps found in the following FAQ: http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...?p_faqid=11150

After you have re-installed Battlefield 2 immediately install Battlefield 2: Special Forces. Once Special Forces is installed, install the 1.12 patch found above. This is an incremental patch, you will not need install any of the original Battlefield 2 patches.

Uninstalling Battlefield 2 will not affect your online stats. These stats are kept on our server.

I have done all of those steps as well as many other users too, but to no avail. This is a problem with your patch and the error isn't on our part. Even people with very high-end systems are getting this annoying bug. PLEASE fix this ASAP, because this bug is proving to be very annoying for thousands of users including myself.

81.95s are running great for me
Amd 64 3000+
gig of ram
nvidia 6800

1280x1024

Dynamic lights low
Textures medium
Rest at high
no stuttering at all

I have pretty much the exact same specs, cept a 3200+ and 6800 ultra, and i lag even on dirt low settings i also used the 8195's originally, then 94's and not much else helped, also everything was on a new clean install :/

It's not a GPU driver issue...ATI users are experiencing the same problem including myself. :laugh: And there's no way in hell i'm wasting my time with a reinstall, CD version..., i'll just have to wait a few months again until EA releases a solution and I can play BF2 without problems. I ain't playing the game like this... :|:

Had this problem too. installed the 81.95 drivers and now all is smooth thank god. Good luck to the rest of you.

The main thing i noticed is the shadows are very strong, even with game settings on low for light and shadows. This has got to be a reason for some frame dips. Like I stated before, the game looks sharper and cleaner. I run at 1920x1080x60 on a 37" lcd on a 7800gt. The new nvidia drivers version 81.95 have excellent IQ and were released just prior to the game. Coincidence? I think not. This very well could be a driver issue with the new game optimizations. I heard somewhere they tweaked the shaders. That could account for alot of this.

You being an ass isn't helping anyone either. Just because for some reason a game works bad on some peoples machines doesn't mean it does on all machines kid. Grow up.

i have a gf 6800 128 and the new nvidia drivers have done wonders for me..
