set texture and graphics to high and aa, lighting and shadows to low. sloved my fps problems.

make sure you have lots of memory. stop all other programs.

my system specs

windows xp pro 32 bit
amd64 3400+
1.5 gb memory
geforce 6800 128
sb audigy 2 value
comcast internet

I've got the same problem. Dropped from 60fps to 30 fps.

Using a X850XT, P4 3GHz, 1 GB PC3200 so it's not my computer or the nvidia drivers. :)

it's the 1gb! get 1.5gb - 2gb.

While I was playing I was using over 1gb. So if you have 1gb of memory or less, you don't have enough to play bf2/bf2:sf without thrashing, which kills your framerate...

so stop complaining. go out there spend a few more bucks and get more memory.

And if it's the ram, why is 1GB fine in BF2?

I had performance issues at first until I found that the exapnsion or patch had set my video setting to a default of High. It was on Medium before (I really need to get a 2nd GB of RAM) and setting back returned performance to normal...

1 Gig 3200 dualchannel
AIW 9800 Pro 4.12
On Medium settings and getting around 60 fps
Still have to play more to analyze it but it's runnin like butter right now and I am still dominating all the other players with high end machines.

It was fine for BF2 but it's not in BF2:SF. That doesn't really make sense... I had no stutter in BF2, it was smooth all the time. However, it's not the case in SF

I'm using the same settings I ran BF2Vanilla on with 1 gig of RAM(easily) and it runs like a sweaty goat sack. I seriously get like <20fps in choppers, and my rig chugs with any kind of action. Except most of the time my machine doesn't have enough time to chug between the random disconnects(flawless 5mbps connection, I monitor it and it never goes down for a split second) and the crash to desktops.

VERY dissapointing.

i have the same problem. someone going to tell me it's my rig?

i played bf2 at 1600x1200 4xaa and usually got above 50. a fraps average showed 55fps. so. bf2 runs fine.

bf2:sf however, does not. i turned it down to 1280x1024, no aa, medium lighting, and still get lag. there is prolly something other than my hardware, don't ya think?

and please don't try to tell me it's my hardware.

I have the same problem too. My bf2 used to run smooth but I get a tremendous fps drop in the Warlord map.

p4 2,8 oc to 3.4

especially while flying in a chopper, my god its horrible

High end machine's dont make the player better. It's just alot more to look at. In my book, I wouldn't enjoy it as much, lookin' like Sega Genesis.

i changed my sound settings from ultra high to medium and its perfect now...
