I just downloaded the new patch, and when I try to install it, I get the error message saying I need at least 3000mb to install. My BF2 is installed on my D drive which has 16gb free, but my C drive has only around 1.3gb. How can I get this thing working? Thanks!

Re: Need at least 3000mb for patching?
You need to have 3 GB free on the dir that has your TEMP folder and where Windows is installed .
Try this: open cmd.exe in Run Menu, type:
SET TEMP=D:\TEMP
SET TMP=D:\TEMP
and try again. Maybe create the TEMP folders on D: first, but probably not needed.
Else free up some harddrive space on your C: drive.
Remember that your Desktop is part of C: so clean that up if you use it for your primary storage location

Re: Need at least 3000mb for patching?
Hey thanks, but I'm still having trouble. I tried running those commands in cmd.exe, but nothing is happening. Do I run those commands one at a time? BTW I am running WinXP Home.

Yes one at a time and press ENTER after each.Originally posted by theguyHey thanks, but I'm still having trouble. I tried running those commands in cmd.exe, but nothing is happening. Do I run those commands one at a time? BTW I am running WinXP Home.
After typing them try SET TEMP and it will show you D:\TEMP if you did it right.
If it doesn't work then just free up some harddrive space from C:

Setting a new temp directory doesn't work just like before. I'm in the same boat with only 2GB free on my C: drive, 10GB free on D: where BF2 is. Problem for me is my C: drive is already very peeled down with nothing but windows on it ... not even the pagefile.sys.Originally posted by Gunny HighwayYes one at a time and press ENTER after each.

Before I was able to free up enough space but now it seems like they want even more.

Re: Need at least 3000mb for patching?
Ok this is bad. I just uninstalled MOHAA from my C drive getting me past the 3gb free mark on my C drive. But the thing still says I don't have 3000mb...
I don't know if this is related, but when I try to defrag my D drive, it gives me this error message:
Disk Defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: (D:), Please run Chkdsk /f
So okay...I run cmd.exe again and I run Chkdsk /f and it tells me there that the volume is in use by another process. I'm assuming that this is normal because I remember chkdsk always telling me to restart and run it then on bootup.
But I reboot (without running CHKdsk) and I'm still unable to install the patch. Whats up with this?

My friend's C: partition isn't even 3 GB in total size. Does he have any hope?

theres another thread about this
Akses VIRUS88 sebagai agen Slot88 resmi dan terpercaya 2026 dengan game gacor terbaru, proses praktis, promo harian menarik, serta layanan online 24 jam.
but nobody there has any solutions either. Someone could come up with a way to trick the Patcher to recognize another drive as the root drive for the game.
What i dont understand is why does it have to be specificaly the C drive. ****ing EA/DICE
I also have no way of clearing up 3 gigs on my system drive.

Re: Need at least 3000mb for patching?
I have the solution for this -- However at the moment when I try to run BF2 i crash back to desktop so i have to double-check everything.
Its a manual process, but not too hard. I had to do it for 1.03 as well and it worked then. I will post a how-to shortly.

Re: Need at least 3000mb for patching?
Doesn't fix the "need 3gb of space" error. Setting all temp folders to a drive with enough space doesn't work either.
It's nice to know that EA/Dice only use the lamest beta testers who all use Dell computers with standard installations. Way to go you retards.
