i'm probably too late but here is how i got into battlefield.

Unlike most of you people who stuck with the Battlefield series since BF42 or maybe even that WW1 game made by the same team ( i forgot what it was called) i jumped on the train just recently because i was more into modern Army games. My The one game that really got me into modern army games was Ghost Recon 1, which i got for free with my old GeForce4 card. I installed it, hosted a game on Gamespy and immediately got 16 people in. That was one of the best games in its time. I made numerous friends in there, some with whom i still talk. The best moment in that game was when i was playing an Embassy map and was running down the North Fence on the Embassy. That week was also the first time i got my 4.0 speaker set. All of the sudden i noticed two bullets hit just in front of me a bit to the right and another a bit to the left. Almost instantly i started going prone while turning around noticed a guy and managed to get a head shot before that other person shot the third bullet. It all happened so fast but felt like it lasted at least a minute.
After Ghost Recon i tried playing Americas Army but that was not as much fun. Those games were too short with the person who gets the sniper rifle always coming up ontop. I also tried Call of Duty, Far Cry, Half Life 2, all of which had a fun singleplayer but weren't as much fun online. Thankfully one day around last September i saw a short article about Battlefield 2 in PC Gamer wich talked about modern warfare, cool features like replying down choppers and SF being to guide bombs, massive maps. Days later i accidentally stumbled onto the very first Battlefield 2 video of a squad fighting in Masturr. Seeing that that kind of teamwork, which i had not yet encountered in any games i previously played, instantly hooked me and i could not pass it by.
I got my Battlefield 2 game on the very first day it came out and unlike most of people who keep complaining how unfair it is to one side or how much they hate jets or some other stupid thing they tend to complain about, i loved every minute of BF2.
As for great BF2 moments, i have a million of them too. The best one i can think of was on Fushi Pass. I spawned on the flag that has a huge set of stairs next to it and a couple of huge smoke stacks on the other side. I cant remember what that flag is called. Anyhow, my clan member was sitting on the top of those stairs as a sniper and protecting that flag. He told me that he got lots of kills protecting that base but since i'm very impatient i cannot be a sniper so i decided to just run off and bright the fight to the enemy instead of waiting for the enemy to come to me. However just as i turned around the corner a tank poped out of no where and started shooting at me. Somehow i managed to get close enough to it and place 2 packs of C4 on it but just as i started to run off it pulled back a bit and blasted me with his main gun. However for some reason i did not die but was instantly lunched 200ft into the air . So as i started to come down i opened my parachute, took out my C4 switch and blew that tank to bits. Then on my way down neither me nor my clan member could stop laughing. That was a legit BF2 Ranked server with Friendly Fire turned ON.

OK. About 5 of us got banned for TKing, this is stupid. Can you find a new server without tk punish, please?

We are cancelling the event tonight - I am getting blue screens non stop on the other computer. I for the life of me can't figure out why and I'm going to look into it. Tomorrow we will play with the patch 1.12 on a regular Battlefield 2 server. Same rules, just more organized. Sorry guys - see you all tomorrow.

Yep same time. I will announce the ip hopefully much earlier in the day. I'll also be playing on my main PC so no blue screens should happen. Looking into what is causing them on the other PC now.
