Does it matter? The only thing punishes do is get you kicked if you have too many, you don't lose points for a punish...it's just an urban myth!

of course, racking up punishes and getting kicked sucks.

does it matter......kind of. I could care less about points or whatever but if you're in a game and having a good time and actually doing halfway decent then all of a sudden......KICKED!!! you can't help but be like.... "WTF!!!!!!"

Look dude if you have a problem with some server post their name. Don't say that all admins are idiots. If you do so then you are bigger moron then they are. I'm admin on our server and time-to-time I have to kick people like you.
We got message running on our server " Do not punish for accidental kills" and if you do so I will give you first time warning and second time you gone.
Also never start votes against team members of server you playing on. That is just plain stupid.
Bottom line is TRY NOT TO PUNISH at all if you are not sure what happened.
Ranking servers are expensive and you better believe you will get kick if you disobey basic rules. Kicking better players or for teamwork is lame. If you sure that you got kicked cause of that, then post SERVER or CLAN name in forums here and let everyone know about it. Just don't bitch when you did bring this on yourself.

I can personally vouch for most of the admins out there. Granted that some admins are very socially inept. They know nothing of sportsmanship, they can't stand defeat at any level of measure, and they see the word "admin" as God. It basically boils down to:

"How dare you make me look bad on my server?! I will now abuse the extent of my authority on this server until I can whittle away the playerbase to the point where I can own the other team by myself and win by an excess of 100 tickets."

If you are a player who was unfairly kicked/banned by an admin

Simply post the server's name and IP. Once word gets out, people will start avoiding the server. If it's a clan-hosted server, they will have to either reassign admin rights to more sensible members or shut down the server entirely. They have only themselves to blame if their server atrophies due to unfair moderation.

If you are an unfair admin

You are only hurting yourself. First, you are ruining your reputation to both the public and the sensible, sportsmanlike members of your clan. Second, you are only hindering your skill growth by getting rid of the players that will actually challenge you. Don't like bunnyhopping? Post the rule on the login screen, then kick when the situation permits. Don't kick because a guy jumped over a box or off a ledge. Don't like people stealing your vehicles? Here's some news: the Project Reality minimod does not allow the enemy to pilot your vehicles. Not only will you provide the community with another PRMM server to pick from, but you will have a more realistic and challenging game experience.

If you are one of the fair admins

Don't bite someone's head off because he's generalizing admins. He's biased and probably posting while still ****ed about the incident. His focus and direction of the complaint is misdirected and emotional. He doesn't mean you specifically; he means the specific jerk that did it to him at that time. Just let him vent and let the forum trolls pick him apart. Don't fuel his fire by resorting to namecalling or an overly detailed retort (like this one!).

I'm sorry, but people definition of "unfair" is totally subjective. And like the creator of this thread, its usually the persons own fault they got kicked/banned.

I usually DON'T take to heart any of the whine or gripe threads against certain clans (in fact, I usually don't even look at them anymore). Waste of time to read about how someone's own carelessness/ignorance/cockiness got them kicked from a server.

respect has to go to the admins for what they do and have to put up with but like with EVERYTHING there are those few that tarnish the image for the whole group. I wasn't ****ed about my little adventure but more bummed because I had NO idea what I did. I simply defended a flag my friend and I were taking and then BAM..we both go kicked saying "we don't play like that"

Let me get one thing straight I VERY rarely punish for an accidental tk especially when they say sorry it happends a lot. In this instance the idiot in the chopper came at us maybe he thought we were the enemy I dont know, but I waited & no comment so I punished then on the screen the admin wrote "so its agreed fellas I will kick him for punishing while being a passenger in a jet" wtf is that about !!! I didnt know only pilots could team kill :hmm: . And for all you mighty admins out there who think because you pay for the server everyone should roll over & do as they are told.Fair enough pay for it but if you dont like people having their own opinion then either lock the server so only you & your mates play OR SHUT UP :p .

Do you really expect the pilot to apologise for BF2's F'ked up tk system? Its not his fault, its obviously an accident and its obvious that he didn't do it on purpose. Its out of the pilots control and there is no need whatsoever to apologise for something that is not his fault and he is already getting punished for let alone you kicking him below the belt and punishing him as well. Your obviously not a pilot yourself otherwise you would know this. If you decide to bail out of a jet or heli and it kills you then the pilot gets a tk, is that his fault too? No! Its the BF2 tk system that is at fault.

As far as your opinion goes on this you are 100% wrong, no if, buts or maybes. If you were a pilot you would know this as its obvious you can't fly at all. Also its obvious that the server you were playing on had a "Don't tkpunish for an accident or your own stupidity rule." I'm sure after a lot of people seeing your attitude to tkpunishing won't allow you to play on their servers. I know if you did this on our server the result would have been the same with you getting kicked and we would not hesitate in doing that! If you can't respect a servers rules then play elsewhere and I don't believe for a minute that "you hardly ever tkpunish" if that was the case you would not have tkpunished in that case.

Sorry to say but he had every right to kick you...

You punished for an accident wich is kickworthy.

The only punish that should be done are for people who intend to kill you.
Someone could shot me or nade me while I capture a flag... I wont punish unless it is clearly an intention.

And I will also add that BF2 NEEDS more admins like him.

As for the Admins pay, no he is not saying you should roll over and do as they please, but you MUST FOLLOW THEIR SERVER RULES...

oh I love the admins on servers....I was playing on a server last night (had something to do with a clan or rabbits) and was on it for a good amount of time. The server was nowhere near full. It was wake island so the air was flooded with these guys in the helos and jets.

I had a blast taking out the copters and jets (to the best of my ability) and then my friend and I decided it was time to go get some flags seeing as we finally got a tank that hadn't been bombed yet

We get to the "beach" flag on Wake Island and start taking it. I see on our UAV a guy coming out way so I drop down and wait.....he runs out and I start shooting so the hopping around (like a rabbit) begins. I kill him and 2 seconds later my friend and I are kicked with the message "we don't play like that"

Needless to say, admins are babies and have a problem with players that actually use teamwork against them it seems. I will go back there only to harass them now......

I always read the rules on the servers ie no bunny hopping, camping etc & I dont have a problem with that if thats the rules then I abide by them no problem. But it didnt say "passengers of jets cant punish or will get kicked" in my book thats admins making rules up to suit them, I take on board what you say about taking the servers name etc my fault I should have done & I might also add that it was the third map I was on having played the first two without a problem & was tk twice but didnt punish. To blame the game for tking is just lame & sad when I get killed its normally someone else that kills me not the game :hmm: .

:laugh: no, we were just laying there waiting for the flag to chage. The UAV spotted him so I told him there was a guy coming. I layed down and waited for him and started taking shots....he actually started jumping around but I got him....then we were booted.

I also will recind my statement of admins as babies (anger talking) and no I WONT be going back in to harass but I am gonna go back in to find out what I did because that server up until that point was alot of fun.

Man, you need to lighten up! It didn't say "passengers of jets cant punish or will get kicked", but do you really need it spelled out that specifically for you? You punished for an accident. It's not as if your pilot was trying to kill you. Now, I could imagine if your pilot kept ramming targets, you might get a little upset, but for running into a friendly helo? C'mon. He probably didn't even see him until it was too late.

I can't make sense of the last part of your post. I think what people are trying to tell you is it's a fault with the game that your death was counted as a TK against your pilot. It really should have just been a suicide.

^^This is why I usually don't wait around for gunners when I'm getting into a bomber. People love to sit there and blast with the TV missile... you can fly around for 10 minutes and let them rack up dozens of kills. But if you screw up and crash once, they're punishing and griefing your ass. BS.
