Can you get rid of the message from EA

The reason why I want to do that, is because since EA included that I can't connect to a server via All-Seeing eye anymore. I believe it's because of that message.
No matter how much time I close it or open it for that matter it always appears.
    Thnx in advance.

It's impossible to rid the game of that message.
Unless of course, you want to edit the files and get a CD key and Hardware ban from Punkbusters. :P

I wish it were removable. It's obvious they added it to advertise for the expansion, that's ALL we've seen since the couple of days after the 1.03 patch image was on there. =/ Not to mention it's an annoyance no matter the content.

          Yeah use BF2 Autoloader. http://www.bf2al.com/
I assume you use the in game browser and it get's annoying to close it everytime BF2 loads.

I hate the fact that they said the ingame browser will not freeze again when you search for servers, click servers etc. Yet it still does. Even more than before. Similar problems were in Battlefield Vietnam and 1942... To think, they can't even fix something as simple as that.

Nope, it's ASE that's broken. But just search google for 'BF2 ase' and you'll find a quick-fix.

I did that and I found a site with a porgram called bf2 connecor, but it can't get it to work.

                This is the readme:
How do I set it up?

                Step-by-step guide:

                1. Extract all files to a dir of your choice.
                2. Open ASE and go to: Tools -> Options -> Tab 'Games'
                3. Under 'Program location' you press 'Browse' and point it to the BF2_Connector.exe
                4. Open BF2_Connector.ini in notepad.
                5. Exchange 'PUTH_PATH_TO_YOUR_EXEFILE_HERE' with your full path to BF2. Make sure the row now reads, depending on your path, BF2.ExePath=F:\BattleField2\bf2.exe or similare.
                6. Now you are ready to try to join a server. Take a break or move on to 7.

                - If you want to play now -
                7. Search down a server in ASE. For now, make sure it has the defualt BF2-port (16567).
                8. Right click, 'Connect as Player'.
                9. Now the wrapper should start, set everything up, and launch BF2.
                10. In the 'Join game'-screen, under 'IP', type 'BF2'. Happy fragging.

                - For advanced users -
                11. You might wanna remove this row from filters.txt:
'JoinMsg: You can not join a server from ASE.'
Can be found 5 rows under 'Battlefield 2'.
Now you wont get the nag-window everytime you want to join a server.
I did everything till step 10 and it won't work. are you sure it is a bug in ASE, cause ASE worked fine untill patch 1.03. I think EA might have done it so they have more controll over hwat servers people play on, cause ASE can see servers that even EA has removed, and it's useless for EA to threaten servers to remove them from the list if people can just use ASE.

Yeah wasn't it nice of DICE/EA to add this stupid advertisement in-game? And the browsers still broken, just WORSE now. Time to get their monkeys back to coding again...

Re: Can you get rid of the message from EA

                      Sigh......

When BF:2 first came out it had no support for ASE so people complained and EA fixed it with the first patch. It took ASE about 4 days to update.

Then people complained that you always had to login to the account server manually every time you wanted to play so EA fixed it with the 1.03 patch, but ASE never updated their software to fix this while others like BF2 Autoloader had a fix out in about 12 hours of the patch being released. The message box doen't stop people from joining, it's the 3rd party browser that was bust.

Here's the solution to fix your filters.txt file :)

Now when you use ASE it will bypass the login screen :)

                        Sry doesn't work for me.
To make sure I rechecked my password and weather I was filling in the correct password with the correct name. And eventually I deleted the line:
                        JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH} +restart 1 +joinServer {ip} +port {port} [ +password "{PASSWORD}"]
Then copied the line from that text:
                        JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH} +joinServer {ip} +port {port} +username yourusername +playerPassword yourpassword [ +password "{PASSWORD}"]
But replaced yourname and yourpassword with my name and password, and checked and rechecked the correct spelling. It still get the login screen.
But that in itself isn't the problem, I used to get that previously, but once I logged in it would automaticly join the server I selected in ASE.

Have you tried waiting for a bit instead of clicking "close?" For example, when joining from x-fire, the message pops up for me too, but if you leave it alone the server will start loading automatically. I guess once you try to interact with a menu, BF2 quits anything it was doing. I don't think anyone's mentioned this, but if there is an ASE hotfix for it, then this is probably not the issue.

Your right, for some reason now that I tried it again it does work. But it's really wierd. cause after every change I made I closed ase, and thyen restarted it and tried to log on to bf2. But in any case thnx ptegen, I'm very grateful.

You don't have to hit the close button when it comes up, just hit your multiplayer tab like you do any other time and watch it disappear as the pos server browser takes its place.
