There's been a lot of cross talk between the Tribes and BF communities.

It's not suprising. Really, both franchises have been mainstays in the tactical FPS catagory. Er, until T:V came out and managed to be totally lobotomized by removing too many tactical aspects.

I never played Tribes1, and didn't like the Tribes2 base game that much but I love the War2002/3 and construction mods. Those two own. There was fighting going on on so many different levels, you had engineers setting up base defenses, and going into the enemy base to set up cloakers, telepads etc. Then you had the big guys duking it out with huge weapons and taking out base assets. Then you had the snipers flying around at huge heights and zooming at mach10 into the enemy base to grab the flag while dodging all that PBW fire. Then you had all the medium classes just doing whatever.

One of the great features of Tribes2 is the interface though. A great server browser, community/clan tabs. In other words all the stuff BF could have used but has never had. And it was all implemented really well. Gotta love the custom player skins too.
Unfortunately though Tribes2 had a bunch of stability issues, and that's atleast one area where Tribes2 and BF2 are somewhat equal.

Unfortunately though Tribes2 had a bunch of stability issues, and that's atleast one area where Tribes2 and BF2 are somewhat equal.

Hehe... naw, T2 totally out preforms BF2 causing BSoDs.

They never did manage to totally resolve all the issues with T2 crashing to desktop.

That's what happens when you desolve the entire core team 2 weeks after releasing a title!

I was an Ultra Renegades addict when T 1 was in it's heyday, my favorite which I wish BF 2 had was the old "Come get some" also if there are any UR players here you might remember the 5150 sound packs, now that would be a riot to have in BF.
