My point is it would be completly pointless to do as it would gain no tatical advantage to your team or yourself.

Neither is running around alone or 5 guys camping for one plane, but people still do it.

Well actually running around on your own can give alot of tatical advantage as you don't have n00bs giving your postion away by shooting at tanks and other idiotic things, also you can infiltrate bases far easier to destroy assets and take the flag.

Hmm. I think there's a misundertanding.

I've seen this done, NOT with the VTOL jets (I guess those are the F35, I don't know what the vehicles are called) .

I've seen it done with the standard take-off jets. Instead of rolling down the flight deck, taking off once up to speed, pilots somehow just do a "stationary wheelie", get the nose pointed up at about 45 degrees, hit the afterburners, and liftoff, with essentially zero runway used. They lift off quite slow, then level off and away they go.

Again, I don't know what the jets are named, sorry. I believe it's the Gulf of Oman map (could be wrong, may beanother map) where the US carrier has 1 VTOL jet on an 'outcrop' on the flight deck, pointing toward the shore. On the aft end of the carrier, near one of the carriers AA guns, is another jet, pointing down the flight deck. That's a standard jet isn't it, not VTOL? I've seen people do that with that jet many times.

Maybe I'm just hopped up on goofballs, and that is, in fact, a VTOL jet.

Both jets are VTOL, and its both done by going to VTOL mode for a second, pull up and throttle loose.

i've seen people do it with migs before, not sure how it's done though. but yea, the F35's are the only jets that it can be done with afaik.

All the planes that spawn on the USMC carrier are the F-35B and are VTOL planes.

You may have got the illusion of it happening on some maps due to the fact that they have a little decrease in ground level whioch the plane will reverse down and then fire the afterburners and go up off into the sky from, this can be done on wake island when the chinese and other maps.

But you have to put throttle in reverse for 1-2 seconds to make the nose go up.

OK, I just jumped into single player to look. THe map I was thinking about is actually Dalian Plant. On the carrier there is an F-15, which isn't VTOL. That's the one I've seen people do this with, several times.

i was JUST playing at dalian plant and i didn't see any F-15's there, just F-35's. are you sure you're on the right level?

Yeah, it was for sure Dalian Plant. Like I said, I was just playing it on single player, maybe the vehicles aren't the same. But, at the same time, I'm pretty damn certain I've seen that plane there when playing online too.

Anyway, no biggie. I'm probably just confused is all. lol

as far as i know there isnt a carrier on single player dalian unless you have a mod installed...

Yes you do, if you just throttle forward from beginning the plane will just drive forward and crash.

No it won't i can fly straight off the carrier with the F-35B that isn't lined up on the runway and i don't crash.
