there are no new unlocks in SF, you use the same unlocks from BF2 in SF. (g3, m95, dao-12).

u will not play against SF players with original bf2. they said people who install Special FOrces over BF2 will NOT be able to switch between BF2 and SF. they said you have to uninstall Special Forces in order to play original BF2

So if most people buy the expansion, everybody else would have to buy it just to play on ranked servers. Right?

I believe this was in referance to servers only.

BF:SF players will still be able to play on standard BF2 Servers.

All of what you said goes against what you could do in all the other battlefield expansions. I call BS.

This is quoted from the BF2:SF readme.txt:

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING EXPANSION PACK AND MULTIPLAYER
When Battlefield 2: Special Forces is installed, a new update is applied. However,
with this new content it is not possible to play on the Internet or LAN with
Battlefield 2 1.03 users.

To be able to play together with Battlefield 2 core users, you need to have
update 1.1 or later.

- In order to play Special Forces in multiplayer on the internet you will need
to download the latest patch from EA.

UNLOCKS
- By playing on a Battlefield 2™: Special Forces map, you will gain the priviledge
of being able to unlock some of the Battlefield 2™: Special Forces weapons for use

the tier 1 weapon for a particular kit before you can access and unlock the tier 2

That's as wrong as you can possibly get!
This patch is for BF2 not BF2:SF meaning that you can play people with the 1.12 patch but not the people playing with the 1.03 patch.

Also there are unlocks in BF2:SF. So please if you are going to say something like that refrence it!

I only hope there is a server setting where we can disable the SF unlocks for vanilla BF2. None of us are rushing out to buy SF. Its not about the money either, though I'm not in the habit of paying for buggy crap anymore. Every bug in BF2 will be in SF + for free they will throw in a lot more.

I may still get it however I won't be rushing out to buy it on the day of release like BF2, you have to learn from your mistakes. Besides SF may not be popular at all.

I'm sure there will be, have you checked the current servers for the cvar?
