I was kicked from a server the other night on the Dam for continually blowing up the USMC bomber in the hangar. I spawned by it at the start of the game, and was TK'd by 4 different people without even taking a step towards it, then was run over after the "winning" pilot swerved off intentionaly into a group of us.

So, being in an albiet immature state of annoyance, respawned as an AT, stood off about 100 yards out, and proceeded to blow up the bomber as the assembled throng of TKers killed each other to reach it.

It was petty, and unsportsmanlike, but I was still laughing none the less. Is that wrong?

I got kicked in my clans first BF2 clan match for swearing too much in teamspeak :P

Pfff, I say you did right. People TK'ing to get the jet or any vehicle really ruin it for a lot of us. Its no fun to spawn and just be killed by your own guy because "Mine Mine!!" I think its just too bad you didnt get them all with your AT missile blowing up the jet, that would have been funny!

Pfff, I say you did right. People TK'ing to get the jet or any vehicle really ruin it for a lot of us. Its no fun to spawn and just be killed by your own guy because "Mine Mine!!" I think its just too bad you didnt get them all with your AT missile blowing up the jet, that would have been funny!

I was going to, but I decided that getting TKs was not a good idea for myself or what was left of the team. Besides, I loved letting them get a few yards out, hit it with the SRAW, and have them jump through the wreckage as they tried to get in.

High comedy indeed.

Just got on the server, grabbed a plane and was owning, after about 10 kills of the clan admin[s] in a row, got kicked for being a vehicle whore

Was it a ranked server? Sounds like EA might wanna hear about that to me.

Whoa. That's some strong language; or as they say where I come from, "Them's fightin' words, boy!"

But our good Wargimp does make a point. You should always respect the rules of the server, regardless of how strange or crippling they may be. It promotes good gaming practices.
If players see other players not following the rules (intentionally breaking them) on a particular server, this can lead to complete loss of respect for all rules. And if that happens, we end up with a gaming community populated with nothing but smart-donkey ten year olds acting n00bish.

I can understand the frustration of having to follow rules that don't make sense or that seem stupid, but breaking them isn't the path we should take.

After all, there are other servers...

Lets see... How about being kicked for being a medic?? I joined a squad of 5, all assault and supporters, as a medic because i thought any squad with 5 ppl might be working together better than a squad of 3. ijt happened to be the admins squad, and he warned me to change to assault or support because as a medic i 'reduced the firepower of the squad'. this was just after id hung back as they ran into artillery and revived them all........ i stayed medic, i thought hey, i got my nice ak and it seems like plenty of revives here too... kicked for TKing!!!!! interesting i thought.

They were just ****ed not so much that we had them. But we are good enough to rarely crash them so they could get them back.

Again, we didn't disrespect them. Just stole some equipment.

But there are so many admins that act like little kids these days. He killed me, i will kick him. But i wanted that plane, even though i don't know how to fly it, i'll kick him.

They stole our tank and the rest of the team is too stupid to kill them. I'll kick so i can get my tank back.

There's just so many idiots running loose, that i don't even pub very much anymore.

whatever happened to saying gg when your team lost?

EA should have made this game harder to learn. That way, maybe some of these CS ****tards would play it for a week, understand that they suck and go back to their POS games.

I didn't need to jump down your throught.

I do find it irritating the number of times I've seen total spoiled brats come onto servers (game servers in general, not just BF2) and start smack talking, tweeking off, and generally disrespecting the Admins. Then they get kicked and run off to various forums to crow about it as if having no social abillites is something to be proud of.

As in the opposite of this case.

someone in another thread mentioned that you can actually hit people on land with the essex minigun on oman so naturally i was curious and i decided to try it myself. i joined a random oman server today and started nailing the beach CP's. most of the time i didn't hit anything, but i did get quite a few hits and kill assists. after doing this for a whole round, one guy finally got annoyed and asked "who's the *** that's sniper aimbotting with the essex?" (LOL) and i said me. my ears then began to be overwhelmed with the incredibly catchy BF2 menu music. i love that theme :)

i would have loved to have seen the look on his face when he saw and heard those pwnasaurus rex essex rounds slamming his CP. ROTFL

Ummm...last I checked we paid for this server and...

last I checked people wearing 50 lbs of gear can't jump head high.

Bottom line is it's our server and our rules. We use this rule to augment the mechanics of the game to provide the type of gameplay we prefer. More specifically, we want players to fight out of a situation (we reward accurate shooters) rather than turn every "engagement" into a night at Cirque de Sole (i.e, a freak'in circus)

It might also be of note that this rule is the main reason people play on our server and...oh ya....we have been ranked as high as #2 overall....so I would say it is a fairly popular rule and that your opinion is in the severe minority, but feel free to whine about it "like a little ballerina" I'm sure it will help.

You did indeed pay for the server, and you have the right to kick people for bunny hopping if you want. I never said you DIDN'T. I just simply stated I dont agree with that decision. We are allowed to have opinions, no?

Also, if your clan played competitively you probably wouldnt be whining so much about bunny-hopping, as EVERY good clan uses it. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

And by stating that you reward good aim, why not reward skill? My clan mate being able to dodge a clip of your clanmates' bullets and knifing him to death is not an easy feat. Ever try to knife someone, even while bunny hopping, as they are shooting you? People act as if bunny hopping is impossible to beat. Its not :-p Many counters to it.

Yes, it may be cheap, but so is the C4 trick (blowing it mid air, after half a second) but it works.

Also, you are playing BF2. BF2 is not a very realistic game, so I dunno why you're arguing about not being able to "bunny hop" in real life with 50 lbs of gear. If you want to play in such a realistic game, why not play AA? Or switch to PRMM mod, where bonny hopping is virtually ELIMINATED and the game is much more realistic?

Oh, and lots of people play on your server because a) it is a Urban Map only server b) it pings well c) it usually has a good amount of people in it, and d) noobs know they wont have to face bunny hoppers that will WTFPWN them on sight.
