ya the 7800GTX beats ATI right now, but if one looks close they will see that its a constant back and fourth tug of war between nVidia and ATI. In fact, its been ATI who is ahead most of the time. You dont think ATI will let nVidia have the bets video card for very long do you? ATI will come back and beat it soon probably. Thats what always happens. Then nVidia will beat that....ATI will beat that....and so on.

to the main poster, I dont think you need 2 gigs of RAM. 1 gig will play it no problem. If you really want to make sure you could get another 512mb

nice comp though, Im thinking of going with an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ and a nVidia 7800GT (GTX is too dang expensive for just 4 more pipelines...20 is good enough for me considering I have 8 currently)

If I get this it will be the first time in years Ive bought an nVidia card...they finally got ahead without ATI beating them back within a month lol

Just got my ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD 64 3500+, ASUS 7800 GTX, and Creative X-fi sound card in today. cant wait to get my PC together.

I just bought a new rig and it has a dual core 4200+ and a 7800GTX with a EVGA Sli mobo and a gig of ram. I paid 1384 through cyberpowerinc.com, do u think that it will run bf2 on ultra high with no stuttering and do u guys think that the money was well spent? o yea with a sweet case with a 450 watt power supply

the price is very nice and reasonable, but u need a new power supply. at least 550W, I'd suggest 600W if u wanna run SLI. and make sure the numbers of amp on all the outputs are over 20A. the higher the better, if u can get all of them around 30A.

nice rig, but too much mula for me.. I could build 2 BF2 machines for
that kind of dough.. as a matter of fact...I did..

My Abit AN8SLI 3000/64 with 1.5GB/3200 and ATI X800XL/256 with
cool looking neon case w/4 fans and 450W PS cost me around $720.

Also includes a 250GB HD , 16XDVD R/W , Floppy.

I built 2 of these machines, 1 with the ATI card and one with a Nvidia 6800/256gt...
and I run BF2 completely maxed out on both.. They run great (well,
as great as BF2 can run with all its bugs and flaws..)

When I see people spending 1500 - 2500 bucks on these rigs it makes
me wanna puke. Waste of money..

In the eye of the beholder, i would much rather have a rig that i wont have to worry bout upgrading for quite a while. Makes no sense to buy something that is already outdated if you have the money to spend.

if you really want more preformance, sell your current 1gb of ram and buy a 2gb pack of ram.

you do not need that much to run it on "ultra high"
I have:
Athlon 4000
1.5GB DDR400
nVidia 7800GT

I can max all settings at 1280x1024 without a problem.


Do not tell me you want to max everything at 1600x1200!

yea Its coming in a couple days and but first I need toi get a deceent monitor
