"Why do n00bs think they have the right to tell us experts how to play."

Warning: The following is more or less a vent. It may or may not turn into an actual discussion. If you don't like this kind of thing and are going to post something like "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh, don't cry about it", please do as you normally would and read it anyway and then post because of the sad fact that you have waaaaaaaayyyyyy too much free time:

I'm SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO tired of losing games and getting half the score I deserve because my team won't follow my orders as commander. I have seen many examples of this, but today, there was a perfect one. I was playing Daqing oilfields (commander both rounds). The first round people followed my orders and we won. The second time though people appearantly thought they would look "1337" if they totally ignored any order I gave without even taking time to analyze what the order was and WE LOST by over 100 tickets. When I brought it up I was quite angry because they seemed to be disobeying orders just for the sake of it (sometimes I'd order them to go somewhere, they'd say no, then do it anyway because they ORIGINALLY planned to). This isn't the first time this has happened.

I'd also like to say the most annoying thing is it is usually the big squads that do this, which is even more annoying. If it was just one lone sniper who made his own one man squad I wouldn't be half as annoyed.

I do, otherwise I wouldn't post. And clearly you do or you wouldn't be posting in this thread.

EDIT: I'd also like to note that "who cares" seems to be everyones defeault response nowadays regardless of the topic.

Yar. This can be hella annoying.
I recall a round I was playing not long ago where I had the plan to simply assign one squad to attack/hold each CP. Very straightforward. Voice coms were working, so I told 'em what I had in mind. I assigned the larger squads to the flags that were closer to the enemy's uncappable (hard) and smaller ones to the once close to our main base ('cause it should be easier).
All went well for the first while. Our attack swept up all the CPs in short order, but then everything went to hell. The squads were flat out refusing to HOLD those points. As soon as one would fall, almost everyone else would rush out to re-cap it instead of just the one squad who's duty it was. This left all the flags exposed and undefended, of cource.
2 of the smaller squads did a fantastic job of following orders, but because the larger ones were ignoring orders, we lost what should have been an easy win.
I got a little grouchy towards the end and started chewing on the diobediant SLs. Two of 'em quit and the replacements were much better. Almost managed to bring it back, but we still lost.

The next round I was too ticked off to bother applying for command.
        Low and behold, what happened?
The team started crying for me to be commander again!

I know, offically 4 times I've been teamkilled as commander. 2 times for chewing out SLs, once for saying that I wouldn't drop someone supplies after I had fufilled 2 of their requests despite that they refused to follow my orders, and once because someone said they "Hated p***y commanders who hide and kill people with artillery" (appearantly they don't like when commander command).

well if your such a bloody expert at the game then surely by now you would have realised that NO one listens to the commander

Not true, they listened to me during the first game. About half the time they do listen to me (which is nice).

                Not entirely true.
I've had some great teams while commanding that both listen to my orders AND communicated with me well.

Good command isn't a one way street. It's gotta be a two way flow of communications. NOT just the commander expecting all orders to be followed blindly.

It would have been a better statment to say; You can't really expect people to follow your orders because the majority of BF2 players simply don't.

Whether people listen to the commander depends on many things. For me one of those things is getting a realistic goal. If I am say on Karkand at the hotel and I get the command to go and take over the Factory, with no other MEC bases taken on the other side of the river, I tend to ignore it UNLESS I have a FULL squad on voice that works together. And I dont listen to commanders flying jets or out in the field getting themselves killed every 2 minutes because they obviously are clueless. People can play the game the way they want to and if that includes not following orders there is little you can do about it. I prefer teamplay but dont see it very often.

Also, I'd love to see a definition of 'noob' and 'expert'

expert (someone who is part of a (most likley) stat padding clan, blindly says attack attack attack no matter what the situation is, or leader of a big squad that is actually a bunch of lone wolves who show up green)

n00b (someone who is not any of the above or plants mines to defend important bases even it means the armor whores on your team will have to stay and defend for once instead of spawn killing while the enemy takes the most important base in the map)

Hehe... well, actually your sarcasm seems to be the way of things.

When someone runs out there and tries to be combat effective with mines et al, he is very quickly branded a noob, yet spawn campers are "l33t".

                            To the Original Post,
Don't go thinking that just because they didn't follow your orders, your team lost the match. Many other factors could have contributed to your loss.
